Well, I feel it is time to contribute something to this place since I use it so much...ANYWAYS! I went ahead and changed Ice Barbed Spear into Hand of Rag for a friend and thought someone else might be able to use it

Just put the file into your data folder and start up the game

I know I shouldn't be asking questions here, but can blizard detect model editing in any way?

i dont think they can and even if they can its not against any policies unless you like .. use it to get to spots or walk through walls n stuff

yea i just talked to a GM and She/He had absolutley no clue what i was talking about. Then they said that if i feel that it is wrong then they highly advise not doing it. LOL

Alright guys here's the low down on the model editing I found this either somewhere here or somewhere else but anyways when you model edit if no one but you can see it then it's cool if other people can see your model edit then you'll get a ban I dont know the period of time or they'll just give you a warning tot ake it off

Model Editing IS illegal. It is illegal to "manipulate" the game files.
But they cant detect it in any way.

It is illegal to manipulate the files to give yourself an advantage. Since changing your models for armor and weapons is something only you see, and does not give you any physical advantage, it isn't against the rules.

Plenty of GMs have said that model changing for visual effects is fine, using it to exploit to get to places is not.

No, none of the GM's have ever said it's "fine" .. it's a totally grey area, like if you use model editing to explore, you can get banned easy, I've never once seen a GM quoted as saying it is ok to model edit. Or any other sort of Blizzard official for that matter.

WPE is illegal model editing isnt

first reason: it give's you no advantage over the game just give's your weapon/armor/toon a new look

Second reason: if anybody can your mdoel edit than you get a ban

Thats pretty much all......one of my friend's asked a GM about model editing and he/she had not idea still.....but yes if no one can see your model edit besides you then your fine nothings wrong.....

Please take this is mind model editing is only illegal if you

one:If gives you an advantage over everyone else

two: if everyone can see your model edit....
