Strategy Just a THEORY, yet a good one. - 02-12-2007

Today I was prancing around with speedhacks in the verdant fields and so I decide to jump down and go towards the ocean (on my map ne ways). (Yes this was on a 2.0.6 live server...). Anyhow, I was running on the flat land and able to run past the barriers that are normally there (where theres no world and if you jump you just float..)So I got to a point where i had no fatigue, I took out the file and swam up and nothing was there.. BUT I was still able to get out past that barrier, I was in the middle of the ocean a bit north of the "Decoration island" shown on the right of the map.. west of STV. Well I couldve swam to it (which with my model edit from a custom private server has a bit of hellfire there) but I didn't. SOOOO My theory is, would it be possible by some means to create a custom ADT file or use current ones like ED to pass barriers, example: replace teldrassil and run to GM Island, take it out and swim up? Whatever you wana post here, flame away^^.

Im not to familiar with invisible barriers, as they are not able to be seen heh. But to my understanding, this is a possiblity, but not a forsure thing.

Barriers are rendered by the ADT. They have little to no dimensions either, meaning that they're no thicker than a foot, at most. So if you switched the adt, and it happened to extend beyond the original barrier, it would work because that barrier is no longer being rendered. Then, when you remove it, you're beyond the area of the barrier, meaning you will no longer be hindered by it.

You don't really need a custom adt to get around a barrier like that, as that could get messy. Could work, but would get messy. You could simply hex the barrier out of the adt to remove it, and you'd be free to move beyond that area though. So yes, you can do that.

Its been done and long ago. Heh, was the first method Noggaholics used to get to GM Island on a live server without teleport hacks. You can see this in Dopefish's My Burning Valentine the part visiting GM Island. Modified Scarlet Monastary ADT's were used to create a path to GM Island (was a good nice piece of flat land they could run along). GM Island was also modified to include a statue of Geek33 with a few gems I found and thought would look amusing floating above his hands. Geek has a video as well of the trip (I think it shows a modified GM Island where the water level has been raised as well).

Anyways its not a method I recommend due to the time involved in walking.

Also Invisible Walls that are part of ADT's can be removed with a tool I released a while ago.

That is exactly where I got this idea from. I only wish there was in my reach... It does not seem like anyone who knows how would like to share this information, also as for hexing the wall out, how would you know which code was for the wall? And I'm not talking about walls... I mean when you go to the end of the world and jump you just sit there and can't do much. If anyone DOES know how to modify ADTs I would love to hear the information or have a demonstration.. I have the version of MWCS that renders the outline of ADTs but it is not much help. Well again, anyone with knowledge of this I'd like to hear it. For the past few weeks I have scoured the net for programs like you mentioned but haven't come up with anything, and cannot find your program anywhere on the forum. Also.. in Noggaholic, what type of method was used to make them fall but then fly, like "bouncing" and just keep going.. referring to towards the end where dopefish flies by outlands.
