This has nothing to do with emo.. Emo is a music genre..In the alternative music world (Emo/Hardcore/Goth etc) the term "emo" means Emotional-Hardcore.. Emo music is as the name says hardcorely filled with emotions.. Such as: Suicide, Love, Broken love, Cutting, etc.. But thats just the music. You cant say someone is "emo".. That would be the same as saying someone is "techno".. What people usually confuses with "emo" is "scene" an alternative clothing style... It looks exactly like what people think "emo" looks like.. The most "scenekids" listen to emo music.. Cutting is not emo just becouse the music is often about it. just like dancing isnt techno just becouse techno can be about dancing.. Cutting is a mental illness.. Cutting is very addicting.. Most cutters do it becouse they rather feel psychical pain instead of mental pain (my english sux, indeed).. Some do it for pure attention, or becouse they think its cool.. ITS NOT!.. Its a very serious issue.. My friends often call me "emo".. But thats just for fun, and becouse i hate my name
.. Descriping me would be something like "Gothic-Hippie-Scenekid".. Hope that cleares up some of the obivious confusion in here..
