I'm actually having some trouble getting this patch to work....

In the instructions, I don't understand what to do with step #5 which is:


5. Open the WoWME.cfg and add in one line the exact file name of the downloaded race change file - eg. "HighElfNE.mpq" (Without the quotations)

Now I seriously have no idea what to do since I can't open the file with out a program so I downloaded DynSite or something to open it and still had no idea what to do... So if someone can kindly PM me on a detailed way to get this to work that would greatly appreciated.

You can open the CFG with Notepad or Wordpad.

just put the filename of the patchfile in the cfg and save it. run wowme and press F8 before you log in.

Night Elf and Blood/High Elf models/skins have the same texture attachment points. It's all a matter of replacing the Night Elf Model with a Blood Elf Model.

Yeah, I've already done it, but then there's a problem with the Hair. Plus the Night Elf faces and skin kinda sucks. The blood elf face / skin recoloured would be a very nice thing.
I think I'll do it when I get some time.

Look, this is the Night Elf model with your High Elf skin (I just changed the hair back to the ne one to look better)

It's clear that great part of what make Night Elves ugly is their skin.

That's just a matter of changing the Blood Elf Hair colours to match the Night Elf ones. Not use the Night Elf Hair sets on Blood Elf models.

Just takes some experimentation in photoshop.

after I tried this method, it still didn't work sadly, i'm so close to giving up but i dont want to because i love high elves

The file name has to be on a new line, and it's case sensitive.

How would I go about changing my character into the opposite gender of high elf?

I still can't get this mod to work sadly even though I made new and case sensitive lines in the CGF file and I made sure everything matched perfectly in the data folder. Is there something that I'm doing wrong here because it just doesn't want to work >.<
