[Race edit] Human Male -> Human Female (total) -
01-17-2008
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
This is my first edit, so I hope it works well. It's tested with 2.3.2, but it lacks helmfixes for 2.3. I would like to give a big thanks to Mudkip for his helmfixes in this thread [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
This edit is from Human Male to Human female. Things that's included are:
Basic model swap
Hairs are swapped (one bald version of females )
Facial hairs are removed including eyebrows
Helmfix for 2.2 (yet another thanks to Mudkip)
Basic sounds
Locale sounds (silly, flirt etc.)
If there's anything missing, please let me know since I'm inexperienced in this. I also noted that a Human Male to Female conversion was lacking, and tbh, alot of Race edits has been just to extract m2 and rename it. I've tried to do it a bit better at least.

I don't use character edits anymore because my undead male is bald so everything comes out bald. Would be sweet if someone could make one for undead oh yea and +rep

Could you please tell me how you did this? I've been trying to fix these so my gnome male ===> night elf female works with these.
I tried editing the CharacterFacialHairstyles.dbc but im not sure which field to edit with a dbc editor (I know how to find my character's hair though)I also dont know what to name the patch and where to place it.
And when I renamed the sounds with a batch editor, inserted them back into a copy of the origional speech mpq, deleted the origional files inside the sound folders, and put it back into the correct data folder, I got an error message when launching wow.
If you could help me out I'd be most grateful for the edit though, nice work

Ok, since it might be a good help for everyone else, I'll do a detailed summary of what I did (dunno if this is specific for humans though)
First, we'll start with facial hair. Open common.mpq and extract character/human
Then you start off with taking the first FacialUpperHair00_00.blp, convert it into png, open with Photoshop, use erase tool to make entire picture empty, then convert it back to .blp. After that I made 90 copies of it, and I used ACDSee to batch rename them (call me a noob for not knowing of better, but it works).
There, you now removed eyebrows.
FacialLowerHair, all I did was to copy FacialLowerHair08_0(0-9).blp and renamed to the rest. I coulda done the same as above, but I did this before I downloaded editing tools.
For character skins, I did a simple copy, and made sure files existed 1:1.
Helmfixes, I extracted helmfixes from the set Mudkip released and added them as well.
Sounds, I first went through common, extracted all that was there, put it in appropiate folders and matched human male and female. That's where I found non-language-specific sounds like "uhhh" "ARRGHHH" and so on. Make sure you work around it by copying and fixing a bit.
Next, for the speech files, I went to data\enGB\speech-enGB.mpq and extracted the sounds I found there, put them in appropiate folders (pretty much same as the ones I extracted from common.mpq) and started renaming and matching. Had to do some fixing here (copying and renaming, and some deletion) to match it 1:1.
After that, I packed it all together in one big happy package.
I hope this makes it easier for you to make good racial edits.
