Ok this isent like those other threads where if you change GM island to programmers island, this is zoning into the actual programmers island instance.

Ok so a friend of mine has his Mage Portal cords changed, so instead of an IF mage portal taking him to if, he could set it to gm island if he wants. Ok, we all know Programmers Island cords are in the DBC files, but programmers island is instance, therfore we cant take a boat or zep, but what about editing a mage portal cords to go to those cords, then zoning into any instance, because instances are all on the same server, and making that portal and taking it.

And if someone does get this to work, make sure you have it for IF, and give me the file since i gave you the idea :P

teleporting is serverside bud, trust me, get to know the game meganics. when you use a portal the server sends you a packet telling you you are now in IF or w/e. please dont try to tell otherwise unless you have some kind of proof. if your friend does it let him make a vid (not a private server) or ask him how, its imposible, period.

First of all, a nogg-aholic is not going to tell me and hes not going to share his secrets with me, but i belive you edit the DBC files, ill try to get some proof like, him being in IF at 10:00, taking mage portal, him being in some area in the world at 10:01. Edit: just asked him to show me, he said he wont do it because it gets detected like hes teleport hacking.

I've been looking in to this. Seems plausable, but you'd have to change the location for IF on your client side.

So, you're not actally changing the mage portal coords, just where the game things IF is, since that information isn't server side (for some very strange reason).

Not techinically hard, just finding the right DBC entry, which isn't exactly easy.

Getting in the real Programmer's / Designer's Islands IS possible on live servers; but you have to be either using a teleport hack, or editing your client files, glitching into the zoning process, and using packet manipulation to bypass quite a few server > client checks, which will have the same result as using a teleport hack regarding detection, on top of that you will automaticly be flagged for zoning to an uneligible area and will be banned in the next hours.

So no, it's not impossible, but I seriously doubt anyone here has the required skill/knowlegde about game mechanics / packet manipulation to achieve this trick.

And to all you bull**** spreaders:
Don't talk about Nogg-aholic, you see them threw your "i'm a noob that use hacks and leech methods without using my brain" magnifying glass, which can only result in missappreciation.
Don't criticise poeple that are cleverer then you, and that retain information not for the pleasure of keeping it to oneself, but to keep it unknown from nublies that leech, spread, and get the good stuff patched.
