Hey guys,

Just getting into the whole editing thing so please don't be too harsh with your critiques just yet, but I've made a reskin of the Tauren Druid Bear Form, this is my first edit and I can post the patch file if theres any interest in it. Here's a few screenies.

The texture isnt great, it's amazing just how much the texture stretches in fact, I might make it larger and try to sharpen it up to see if it improves the quality of the ingame skin somewhat but I have a feeling it probably wont. Just shows how little Blizzard tried to skin this model properly

This is still a work in progress really, I may add glowing eyes if possible and tinker with the armour plating a lot. Let me know what you guys think!

Make the texture higher res and itl be a lot better

It's actually the same resolution as the original texture for the druid bear form so I didnt want to change it, but I'll experiment with it tomorrow.

Just make it twice as big so if it was 256x256 make it 512x512 it will work at any size as long as its square I believe

haha thats cool as hell, personally i would leave out the armor all together, i like the scarred skind and face alot more, but thats jsut my opinion, luv the red eyes tho..>.<

I've updated it a little, here's the current one:






I resized the texture, so it's actually a lot better than the old one was and is more noticable up close, however I'm not that great at texturing to an extremely high quality, I'm still kind of new to the idea, and making a current texture bigger to fit the model is a lot harder than shrinking a texture, since enlarging a texture tends to make it lose it's quality.

That said, I'm pretty happy with it right now, but I might tinker with it more, depends on whether I have any inspiration or not.

Now, for hosting the patch file, what's the best hosting for that kind of file please guys? I'll upload it asap for those who want to use it, and I might even start work on a Night Elf equivalent.

It's actually a shame the models mirror the texture for both sides, I would have had one side of the face robotic and the other normal, but it's not possible with this hehe.

My tip in photoshop (assuming thats what your using) open the origional texture make it huge say 1024x1024 it will look stretched then make your own texture above it then resize it 512x512 and it will have all its quality and be a higher rez texture
