Ultima Weapon V1.

I haven't been modelling for long, actually I started two weeks ago with Maya 8.5 PLE and found out that basic modelling isn't that hard. I have always been a big fan of FF series, especially FF7 is something I really like. So I tought I could model main character's best sword because it was pretty basic. Now I think I am ready with it, haven't learnt how to make curves yet tho so it is pretty cubical .



Ultimate Weapon V2

So after some hours of remodeling and thinking I got Ultima Weapon V2 ready and this is most propably the final one. I will make textures for it later and ingame version too in some days. I used same objects with the handle that I used with V1 but they are resized and have had some tweaking to make them look better.
I started the Blade all from scratch and this time tried to make a perfect copy from the Sword I was making.





That's the source I used to model.

The blade will be textured as white, don't know yet ifI am going to add transperency or not if WoW even supports it!

Please don't be too harsh

Hah yeah, it was made in 1998 and graphics looked pretty akward but somehow I like the graphics of FF7

God I dont remember FF7's graphics being that horrible lol. Was only in like second grade when I played it though.

Model looks good so far.

Nice sword, but there are a lot of places where the sword is different from the picture.
Such as the handles, the middle of the sword and so on.

Indeed you are right, I didn't try to make an exact copy at the first place, the picture was just pointing the way and I decided to make it a bit more dramatic

When I gain more skill I will propably make excatly same looking copy
