This requires the Model Edit Fix found [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].
To use:

1. Rename the .mpq file to Patch-#.mpq and replace the # with any number or letter.(EX: Patch-1.mpq Patch-a.mpq)
2. Take this mpq and put it in your WoW data Folder
3. Run the WoW Model Edit Fix (linked above)

I'm having some scruples using this Model Edit Fix program (I'm guessing B. doesn't mind .MPQ "patches" that much anymore, but any "3rd party program", I don't know), can't this be done with just a .MPQ placed in the data folder?

You can try it, I'm pretty sure you need it though.
