Need help with resizising helm - 01-02-2007

Hello.

I need some help to resize my helm, since I changed my model from Gnome Female, to Human Female. I've looked through every guide I seen, I've searched for any possible word and still havent found how to do. Ofcourse its 2.0+. I would appreciate any information, and if it results in success you will get +rep.

And if there is a guide, link please.
Best regards

Well, the point of the guides is not to do as the guide says, but to modify the guide to fit your needs. Your helmet is currently Helmet_01_GnF. That's what fits the Gnome Females head. The servers character cache is calling for the GnF version of the helmet. All you have to do is find the Human Female version of the helmet, which ends in HuF and rename it to GnF to trick the server. Also preserve the treepath.

Edited for misinformation.

Then make a file called patch-3.mpq etc and put it in the WoW/Data folder?

And one thing, I should call it GnF or HuF, I was Gnome Female from the start.

Doesnt work right now, and I tried both. Dont know what I'm doing wrong. Tried to name the file both HuF and GnF and then put it in the WoW/Data folder.

First off, I apologize. I gave the wrong information before. Read this and take for the truth.

It doesn't matter what you title your MPQ. It needs to be within the confines of Patch-X, x being a number or letter. Any number, any letter. It can also be called Patch-EnUS-X, but then it'd need to be in the EnUS folder.

You want to extract the Human Female version of your helmet(which we will call Helmet, for lack of real file name) and rename it to Gnome Female. This means that the original file is Helmet_01_GnF. That's what you are wearing. You want to trick the server into believing you are a Human female, so you rename the original Human Female file to Gnome Female, so that when the server calls for it, it gets the Human version, under a new name.

So take the Helmet_01_HuF file and rename it Helmet_01_GnF.

Now, I have the feeling you were just packing a single file called GnF into your MPQ. You need to preserve the treepath. The treepath, I guarantee, is Item\ObjectComponents\Helmet\

Put that infront of the filename when importing it to add it to the correct file system.
