Hello! I recently finished my first attempt at armor reskinning, but after armor-swapping and starting up WoW the textures are completely messed up! It looks fine in WoWModelViewer, but in WoW it looks like I have buttless chaps (and sometimes the crotch is exposed too...) while all the textures are completely different each time i load it. They also don't resemble the armor i had before i armor-swapped by HEX editting.
In WoW Modelviewer
In WoW (Inc crotch shot). The textures also change everytime i load it
Here's a DL Link for the mpq and itemcache file: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Any help will be GREATLY appreciated and of course +rep
Thank you in advance!
Nah that can't be the case. The MPQ file contains only .blp files This also seems to happen with tabards. Never had a problem with BLP's that belonged to models (the head, shoulders, and weapons as you can see in the screenie) but this seems to happen when it's a texture applied to the body.
Are you starting with WoWMe? It wouldn't hurt to try if you aren't. Also make sure theres no duplicate skins for the same model, some weapons have three or four skins.
I don't honestly know what "armor swapping via hex editing" is, but I'm going to guess that you have given WoW a clothing texture in the wrong format. Clothing textures and character skins in WoW will only render correctly if they are palletized. (Note that WoWModelViewer has no such restriction, so it makes sense that it looks fine there.) If you feed WoW a DXT compressed texture instead you get random junk that seems to change every time it is loaded.
Since I don't know really what you are doing I don't know what part you messed up, but anyway I think that is what your problem is.
