MMowned, you have seen before that I had made a hunter tier 7 set in concept (Graphics section). I wish I could wear it.

And so I want to make it a reality. I have seen custom models (cars wtf) when people did model edits with mounts.
I ask- where do I get the program to do this? I am just making simple models (shoulders, wep, hands, etc) and I can do the skins myself. Can anyone enlighten me on this? I can if they show me. Then if I can pull this off my model edit will be open :O

Well... the actual 3d can be done in 3d Studio Max or its free though less powerful counterpart Gmax. now you will have to obtain a script to export whatever you make... id suggest making some darn good cookies for A_Snake.... I myself have had to resort to Ultimate Unwrap 3D as a middle man to export them... i cant bake all that well ... And if thats not enough to deal with you also have to either convince the powers that be to let the model edit fix go public (better get to making an uber large batch of cookies) or else go on a private server and create totally new items using your models. its gonna be a pain any way you go.... but alas thus is the life of a model editor/ creator

i Have made a Few Things in 3D studio Max. you would need to Export your model you make to .3Ds in 3Dstudio Max, then use .3DS - .M2 Converter . the converter can be found in the Model editing Forums somewhere.

I personally prefer to use Milkshape over 3DS. You can download a trial of it [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. It's a lot lighter than 3DS, and can import quite a few different model formats from various games. If you want to use it long-term, you will have to download a cracked version ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ] ftw )
