[Question] Making your own models. (Animation & Texturing) - 10-05-2007

hiya.

Ok so, I've just made what is in the screenshot below, using 3DS Max 9, as a quick test.

Apparently there are different methods to getting 'textures' added to self-made models. One being the use of M2Modder and Lithunwrap. Neither of which I can find any download links to on the internet or here.

Though I do have, 3DS Max 9, MS3D, Photoshop CS2, and a BLP>PNG>BLP Converter, which I can work with fairly easily. (3DS Max 9 I only d/l'd & registered last night though)

I am quite new but am learning everything pretty fast and I was wandering if anyone could explain to me the process of getting animation and texturing to work in the .m2.
The objects in the screenshot above I made in 3DS Max quickly, and animated the sphere to bounce, exported it as a .3DS file, and used 3dsToM2 to convert to .M2.

No animation though. (I'm probably missing like 400 steps) Or textures (but I can't find M2Modder or the Lungithap)

Anyone have a link to a guide or d/l links to those two programs? or even better any advice for me in general?

Would greatly appreciate any tips or links to guides please.

Well, the animations ... Meeh ... Lets look what Cryect said on this:

Example of animation working with a model converted from 3ds to m2 through the original program I wrote.

Really should have went with a MAXScript instead but didn't realize till basically was done. 3ds is a too limited file format to work well with m2's.
Seems like you have to figure that out and when you did it it wont be that good :P
