Question regarding Warden and Model Edit. - 09-02-2007

Yes, this is one of those paranoia threads, but I'm very curious.

Right now I'm making my BE Female look like a Human Male, I'm not using model editing for advantages, I just wanted a different look.

I remember a big thread on the WoW forums talking about a program Blizzard uses called Warden. This program, from what I understood, automatically checks the users World of Warcraft folder for foreign content (I.E. like bot programs or speed hacks).

My concern is, am I rolled the dice everytime I click the ME.exe file and log in with a different .MPQ file? Is this automatic program going to detect these harmless files and get my account banned?

Yes, paranoid I am, but check I must.

Thanks.

Well, people have been doing editing and using "foreign" content for years and have not gotten caught, so I wouldent worry about it really.

Even when using edits for tiny advantages you wont be banned immediantely. Most likely you'll be warned before.

I never got banned until now and have not always used Modelediting only for style purposes. (My last one was flying a Orc to Teldrassil and leveling there. I did not get banned even if I got seen by around 5 alliance's characters. (And I was in Winterspring and Hyjal, the full way to Teldrassil to Durotar ..).

This does NOT mean "get advantages, you wont get banned". It just should say: not instantely. And not because Warden detects some files in \WoW\Data.

Warden... Blizzards anti-hack/cheat system, checks which proccesses ur PC is running everytime U boot up WoW.. If it see's things like CheatEngine.exe and so forth it will hit you with the ban hammer.. I get my modelfixes from somone privately, and they aren't called shit like ModelEditFix.exe (which imho, is the most obvious name like "OH LOOK AT MY IM TTLY NOT MODELCHANGING") I would rly rename it or something.. Lol.. Either way, afaik no-one has been caugh using any model fix, but god knows when they will update their crappy warden system..

They really don't care if you want to play dress-up with your character. They won't take action at all until it becomes a "problem".

When you install WoW you also install warden to scan the folder where you install it at (standard: C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft or whatever).
I renamed my folder to "cake", and with a CTRL - ALT - DEL checking i found no warden running in background.
