I've followed Lex's simple model edit guide to turn a gnome into the baby beholder thing, but when I put it into my patch and load it onto WoW, this is all I get   |

Figured out how to do it and am trying to make myself a blood elf slave, here's a pic 
yeah, so the problem is I've followed Reflex0zor's guide to model swapping exactly, and the model works but as you can see, it ain't textured and it's trying to use all of the hairstyles and stuff at the same time... but I'm sure you can see that from the picture

there was a char 2 creature guide for beginners with a huge amount of colour used so maybe this will help you (should be in ~sinX sticky) |

@ gimmevibratioj; yeah, u can.
Lookin at ur second pic, i'd say you most probs forgot to edit the .BLP files. As .DBC editing doesn't take into account race textures, only models (must in contrast to creatures). When race swapping via .DC variable editing you'll also have to go back and swap the .BLPs via MWCS through renaming files + repacking. Lex's guide should cover this :P
