Need help locating a file- everything else I'll do myself. - 05-30-2007

I'm at a point where I can edit anything I want, with the exception of casting animations.

Anyone have an idea as to where the files that hold casting animation information are stored? I'm sure I can go from there, depending on what filetype it is.

I noticed that if I model edit to another race, the casting animation changes. (Perhaps it's stored in the m2?)

But the m2 is also the physical structure of the character, so I need to figure out how to 'extract' the casting animations from the m2, I'm guessing, or something like that.

Thanks for the help.

Animations are saved as m2 files. They are in a folder called spell or something (cant remember or be asked to open MWCS atm). It shouldnt be too hard to find. You model edit them the same way as any other m2 edit. Good luck

No... The animations of models are stored in the M2. So say you want to change the casting animation of your Night Elf - You would have to edit the M2 itself, which is not at all easy (Without tons of bugs at the least)

Oh. Actually, I'm not trying to change the color of the spells, or anything like that. That's easy.

I'm wondering if there's a way to change the Blood Elf Male Omni animation to something else like, say, the Orc Omni animation.

Oh, here we go. Thanks Idusy.

Hmm, I have no idea how to edit an M2. Could you guide me in the direction of the program?
