Request Beard removal method - 05-07-2007

Hi, I have searched the forums for awhile now I just can't find anything that explains how you can remove beard/undead chin on models, Don't exact know if undead chin fix is posssible, but the beard I have seen posted put not for models I want.

So I ask polite if someone could explain or atleast redirect me to a topic that explains how you fix that.

Note that I Don't want finished MPQ's with no-beard, I want a to know HOW you can do it yourself, unless you got mpq's with facial hair for ALL models to all other models, which I doubt anyone would like to do.

I realise this might only be race x -> BE/draenei due to those don't have any facila hair blps(can't check atm if that's the case). If so that's the case you can just post ALL or most Alliance/horde races -> BE/Draenei with beard fix, if you got the models

Thanks for your help.

I might be able to help you.
Take for example.
Beard file nr. 1 and replace it with beard file nr.2
Let's say that file nr.1 contains no beard, and file nr.2 contains beard. You will modelchange nr 2 into nr. 1 and voilą
Well i hope the above was any help at all.

Re: Beard removal method - 05-07-2007

Tough one, but this is the method I use to remove beards.

(you will need a blp to png converter)

Ok, Say I am a Night Elf male, and I want to become a BE female, go about the normal modlechanging steps, so that you have CHARACTER>NightElf>Male (blah blah) on your desktop (or wherever).

Ok, now open up MWS, common.mpq look in the character folder (no caps) and extract the NightElf folder (remember, we're doing NE M> BE F) now open up the extracted folder, there should be a lot of blp files there, open up your blp converter, and convert all the files there to png format EXCEPT THE HAIRXX_XX FILES,

Now you need to upen up those converted pngs to something like photoshop (mspaint works too, but it would take about 20 min longer). Now once you have them opened up, you need to erase everything on those files, yes all of them, usually takes me about 7-10 min, then save them.

Once you have all the graphics on those files erased, you need to convert them back to blp format. once that is done, cut and paste them into your CHARACTER>NightElf folder. You need to have the bloodelf Harxx_xx files in there, instead of the night elf ones, or else your model will have odd textures in their hair..

this method takes a while, but its worth the time.

I hope this helps, kinda rushed it.

EDIT: Here is an example mpq, use it as a refrence when doing your own
