I know I know, it's been discussed allot, but recently I've stumbled upon a few screenshots of GM's saying that as long as you don't edit the game that it somehow gives you an advantage, you're fine and can model edit w/e you want. Now I know for a fact that allot of WoW players would love to change their races just visually and I'm one of them, after a while it just gets boring, but I don't want to risk my account for that.
I know it is against the ToS to edit any game files, but so is account sharing and allot of people let their friends play every now and then and Blizzard "allows" that.

This is never okay. Period.
I don't mean to be brusque, but Part 4, Section B of our Terms of Use should outline things in more detail:

You agree that you will not (i) modify or cause to be modified any files that are a part of the Program or the Service; (ii) create or use cheats, bots, "mods", and/or hacks, or any other third-party software designed to modify the World of Warcraft experience; or (iii) use any third-party software that intercepts, "mines", or otherwise collects information from or through the Program or the Service. Notwithstanding the foregoing, you may update the Program with authorized patches and updates distributed by Blizzard, and Blizzard may, at its sole and absolute discretion, allow the use of certain third party user interfaces.
So GM's don't say it's okay, I think you should add this info to the sticky.
