Better Eradar edit?! -
04-21-2008
Alright so i would love to attempt this i have mwcs and model viewer, but i have no idea how to execute this correctly since i've never made an edit. So my request goes two ways, first is that i would love someone to explain to me step by step how to do this, pictures would be best . That way i can completely edit it in other different ways once i learn.
Or which im sure is easier for who ever takes on this task.... I would like to see a model edit very much like this one [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
With a couple exceptions! I would like to see this model edit work like most the others. what i mean by that is i want to see my own armor on my toon, not that she isnt sexy, but i want it to feel like my own. I'm fine with the way she looks other than that, as far as i'm concerend it fixes the helm and foot problems since its a defaulted look for everything. I think thats great! I just wanna be able to look at my own armor and everyone elses armor for that matter. I would also like this to be for a tauren female, red is prefered but it doesnt matter exactly.
WHO EVER TAKES ON THIS TASK I AHEAD OF TIME WOULD LIKE TO THANK YOU FROM THE DEEPEST PART OF MY THANKING PLACE! also obviously there would be + rep involved. I cant possibly be the only one who wishes this model edit existed !
It's actually impossible to have your own armor show on a non race model, the Eredar twins use a creature model instead of character. This means there are no armor adaptations besides the already modeled and textured ones.
This same thing applies to the Felblood Elves.
Fixing this would require to make the creature models count as a character model in full, which to my limited expertise - is not achievable.

Like i said i have no idea how model edits are done exactly, but wouldnt you be able to switch the textures out between the two? example being that you replace all the tauren textures with the eradar ones, i understand that the have the most skin textures. I would assume that over ridding all the files for new ones would make it work?

Essentially, look at the fel elf one as someone mentioned. Your probably going to have to split the images apart to with paint or photoshop. I"ll look at it this weekend.
