Not in a hurry really, more interested in what I did wrong than to get the endresult, so no need to prioritize this =)

Red is the color of preferance, though black works equally to make it blend in better with the char.

I have not found the .m2 file, so if the glow is a model particle effect I have no idea where to find it, however I uploaded the .MPQ and all textures, both PNG and BLP.

However, I can't find it in either patch.MPQ or common.MPQ and don't got any patch-2.MPQ, might be in there? Or I've just overlooked it completely

You didn't include the original unedited glow. I'll try to get that in a minute.

Also you probably overlooked it. There are lots of folders. Its probably not in the same section as the .blp.

Edit: Could you upload an unedited glow for me. My Warcraft Studio keeps crashing for some reason when I try to extract the glow.

I found the model!

Tried to particle edit it in glitchy's, but the numbers of color means nothing to me.

However I am now positive that the glow effect comes from the model. But how to change colors?

Nobody knows how to change the particles using Glitchy's MES or m2modder. I think its a weird hex system with a couple extra numbers (at least in m2modder). I'm trying to figure it out with Astra.

However, it has a .blp so you should be able to photoshop it. I've photoshopped the warglaive glow with success. However, as stated I can't extract the glow. I'll try getting an updated my warcraft studio later.

Tell me if they work. Also I can try to help you find the .m2 if you are still having trouble finding it. Although I'm pretty sure if you did the edits similar to mine you could just put the .blps in a new patch.

found the .m2, it got a particle effect attached to it. The 'glow' we've been trying to change is just something beneath the particle effect; it changes the glow but not the yellow sparks of Light.

So it seems that I've got to dechiffer the color system ;<

forgot to add that yours didn't work, I guess it shined through but just to avoid misconceptions :P

I'll try to check it out later, about to eat dinner now.

I think if there is a problem, it may be because of the base shoulder that you did. You could also upload that and I'd be happy to try to fix it (the original file if you decide to do this please).

Also, I really think its in the original shoulder now (although not positive because I can't see it). Upload that too, said this above in my post, but I'm not sure if you saw it.

Glow, textures, model.

It changed, although I couldn't really see a red glow, all I saw was some minor differences in the texture; some pink bits, but on the other shoulder green, aka completely weird and not making sense.

Just a quick question, were these shoulders red to begin with (just no red glow)?

Oh I think I get it, you renamed the original file name when you extracted them?

No renaming, the PvP gear is in a dull red, well the cloth on it is, the plate is yellow/gray, while tier6 is blue, thus to keep them separated blizz named it red. So no renaming, original names!

I see what you mean. There is a red glow around the yellow and also red under the yellow glow. However, there must be another .blp for the glow you want changed or it could be a particle (in which case there is no way to edit it, until someone finds out how). I'll look a bit more for a .blp, but it could very well be a particle like you initially suggested.

Let me look around to see if it contains another .blp and maybe look at the hex code and see if I can find the glow.

It does have a particle, the code in m2 modder is: e175b19 e1dd933d 00771b19 (this makes a yellow color). If anyone could figure that out, I'd be impressed.

So basically I have to a) find someone to remodel the shoulders b) find a guy who works at blizz to decipher it or c) drop the project? ;>

I thought it was like the warglaive glow which has a .blp, but maybe Blizzard used a different format. I'm not sure if this has a glow like the warglaives. The glow we found is that outside glow thats around the yellow glow that you want changed .
