OK i have been all over the model editing section and I still cannot find a guide for adding a made model into the dbc file

Basically im looking to

Create a Creature model <---done
Pack to mpq <-----done
display id to create npc and/or MOB<---need help
making it spawn in game<----need help


I am running acsent(2.4.1)
tools I have:
3DsoM2
wow model viewer
MWCS
autodesk 3d
blp converter
and many more

this wouldnt be DBC editing :P, all you have to do is make your custom model into a .M2 and then swap it and its textures(assuming you have textures) with a model, this is the only way i know of to get a custom model ingame. Hope i helped,

yes I know you can edit an existing dbc to add the model but im looking for a way to make a custome dbc i guess to add the model and not replace the current, A guide telling me what each column in creaturedisplayinfo.dbc is i am pretty sure i can do this.

add the model, not replace, on an emulated server?

ask in the EMU section because what you are asking is not model replacement


model replacement is done in m2's... it sounds like you want to add an entirely new creature to your emulated server

yea I wanna add a new model (not replace and it has nothing to do with the server.
adding the spawn id for the creature is easy through sql but what I need is to know how to get the model a new display I.D to be able to link it to sql.

so as i asked before How do i create a display I.D for my custom model

You're going to be executing a script in your server ( the mob table ) once you have the model and everything. Its the same way as adding custom weapons ( look at wow vendeta ( custom items for your server ) it works the same way.

Im sorry I didnt quite get that. I think the way i have to go about this is:

create model<--done
create a new Creaturedisplayinfo.dbc <--dont know what to do here(extract dbc edit adding new line to attact display info to model pack to new mpq?)
Pack mpq<---dine(maby premature)
create entry into creature_names table on server<---not done

anyone? Like is it impossible to add models to the game and only possible to replace them?
