Sorry for the double post!
But as quite a few now have complained about, there's some trouble with handling the .M2-files...
Whenever you mark/select a .M2-file, the program simply shuts down. As i wrote in the former post, i was trying to make a recreation of Andriges [Druid Cat/Tauren Druid Cat -> Worgen]-skin, but failed fatally as i was unable to extract the .M2-file.
BUT - I've finally managed to find a way around...
1) Load the MPQ-file (common.MPQ, common-2.MPQ, patch.MPQ etc.) into
MyWarCraftStudio.
2) Locate the directory of the .M2-file, but do
NOT select the individual .M2-file.
3) Select the folder containing the .M2-file.
4) Right Click the folder and click [Extract Folder...]
5) Vola - the folder and all the files - Including the infamous .M2-file - has been extracted, and can now be further manipulated.
If you then wish to e.g. Reskin something, then simply locate whatever Model you wish to reskin, copy the names of each of the files (i like to Extract the folder of whichever model i reskin so i can right click the files, press
Rename and copy the names of the files.) and rename all the files. That means that if you're making a Night Elf Female into a Blood Elf Female, you need to rename all the "BloodElf" .BLP, .M2 etc. into "NightElf". Well, i'm sure everybody already knows this, so i guess there's no reason for me to explain into tiny details. I'm sure you get the idea!
My apologies if you all already knew this. But hence the many complaints regarding the .M2-files, i figured i'd post my progress!
Regards,
Bill
