Extracted from WoW 2.3, with MWCS .10, model injector m2->obj, import with all fields cleared, it appears a window with "identical points in face 2862" and then appears a similar thing you can see in the screenshot
Maybe a 3DSMax plugin is required? (i use 3DSMax8)

I'v gotten mine to work on a 2 year old dell dimension 9100 with windows XP. Running .net 2.something.
My guess is there may be something with your .mpq file. I'm running WoW 2.3

Im downloading now the 3DS Trial that [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] wrote, if it works, its a version problem in Max, if does not, one of the programs requires more files.

I have .NET 1.1 and 2.0

Ok, it fails with the trial too
It seems that something is missing. A step in the guide? A plugin for 3DSmax? a config file for ModelInjector? i dont know :S

I use the 3ds trail and I followed Glitchy's directions exactly and it works fine. Its either your computer or you arnt following the directions on how to import the .obj

i did too twice, but im also getting an odd model in 3dsmax

Ohh man, i finally did it to work
It was a detail missing in the guide

Change your system language to English (USA) :
start, config, control panel, language and region configuration (a similar thing), and set in the 1st panel English (USA), in 2nd i think it is not required, and the 3rd set English (USA) too, then restart
now you can use injector to extract correctly and later the 3DSMax to edit
it works for me, have fun

I did not Know this. I don't know why this would affect the program and it has been driving me crazy trying to track down this error. If this is the case Thank you SO much for finding this Solution for me.

hey how do i select all the faces and resize them to make them bigger?(ex i watn a BIG bear)

i think i found a real bug, try this
Extract a human .m2 (male or female)
convert to .obj
inject that .obj to the .m2
now it seems not to have the animations that were added in the expansion: "Mutilate" and "EmoteDanceSpecial" (checked from wowmodelview-0.5.09)
BloodElfFemale loses a Stand animation
BloodElfFemale "hip?" is more moved to the out side than the original one

you only need to have the model selected, its the best option without distorting
you may also select Vertex tool and clear "ignore backfacing", later draw a square over the whole figure (Ctrl to add more vertexes to the current selection) and scale it

im not sure if they may work when you inject them

Make sure you are extracting the model from patch.mpq and not common.mpq as common is Pre-BC and Patch is where Blizz keeps the updated models.
