Hi First of all I would like to start off by saying that this is not a guide to model editing/worldbuilding etc etc. This is a guide to navigate in the forum and enjoy the Model Editing section as much as possible.
This guide is divided into several sections.
I – Different categories of the forum, do’s and don’ts.
II – Different links to guides from some of the easiest to semi-advanced. For those interested in learning how to model edit.
III – Behaviour and rules.
IV - Reputation, what is it and how can I gain/give it?
V - Important side notes and threads.
I – Different categories of the forum, do’s and don’ts.
In the Model Editing MAIN section we have the [NO QUESTIONS/REQUESTS] policy,
meaning that no threads about questions or requests should be created here. There is a whole section for that (coming up). In this main section you will post things that you have yourself figured out/created and/or taken from another website and wish to share. If you are using someone elses work it is always appreciated to say this, for example: “Hi, I created a mage spellpack etc etc etc. Skin for the water elemental is made by Pullefjun” Otherwise someone most likely will find out and they will not be nice about it, stealing is never appreciated.
In the Model Editing Guides and Programs section is pretty self explaining, in here you
will find the guides and programs needed to use, or abuse, model editing for your own purposes. In this section you will find a thread made by Teufel with pretty much every tool you will ever need for model editing. ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ]) Keep in mind that you should not start threads about questions or requests in here either.
In the Model Editing Questions and Requests section you will be able to ask all the questions you want answers to, from the simplest of the simplest to the most advanced, check if someone has the time to make u a new weapon, or ask someone to change your characters race.

It would be a lot easier for everyone using this forum, and would reduce the spam a lot, if you took the time to search through this section of the forum to see if your requested change has already been done or has already been requested and not completed, in that case a bump could be in order, instead of creating a new thread with the exact same purpose. Or perhaps your current question is already being discussed, or has already been answered previously. So basically, keep your questions and requests about model editing and its different aspects to this section, people will try to help you when they have time.
In the Model Editing Showoff and Discussion section you will be able to show people your current or finished projects in model editing, or discuss something that has with the model editing genre to do, keep in mind that there is a huge difference between Questions and Discussions. With a question you seek an answer to something you don’t know, with a discussion you perhaps want a simpler way of doing things, so you start up a discussion about peoples method of work, to see what’s more effective.
The Showoff part is for Model Editing finished and ongoing projects that does not always include a download link for the public, in case you very much want to show people what you have done but you are not willing to share this for personal reasons, afraid of stealing/copying etc, some Showoff threads have a download link and some don’t. It’s up to the author to decide, not the reader.

This section above (Beginner's guides) looks differnt from the others because all the links F*KD up and I had to replace them,
which ended up with everything F*King up and now they look like this. Sorry for the inconvenience.

(Keep in mind that patch-2.mpq no longer exists as of 2.3.0 and there is only patch.mpq, expansion.mpq and common.mpq)
III – Behaviour and rules. This will be the shortest part of my guide, here you will find everything you need to know so that u wont get hit by banstick.

IV - Reputation, what is it and how can I gain/give it?
To be able to +rep you will have to contribute your way to 5 rep (or more, more is better) or donate to this webpage, or write 5 forum posts.
Contributing is easy, and the most appreciated way by other members, make an edit that could be valuable for more people then just yourself, unless you only create it for Showoff. "omg I changed this weapon into this weapon and nothing else, +rep me!") and never, ever ASK for +rep
Donating is easy just go here, you have to be logged in:[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Writing 5 forum posts says it all really. Write something of importance or value to other members, don’t spam/flame/troll.
V - Important side notes and threads.
EDIT: How to "install" a patch! Download the patch, put it in your WorldOfWarcraft\Data\ folder.
Depending on what kind of edit it is you might need a Model Edit Fix.

PSS: Some links are nicer then other because of technical issues
why are you reading this? there's really nothing special in my signature. But it is interesting that you continue reading that text though I said here isn't anything worth to read. Maybe you think I hid some secret messages here but I have to deceive you.

Added a new section. V - Important side notes and threads.
Bumping.
If you think that something else should be
added to the guide. Send me a PM with
the title "Using the forums" with a link, and
or a description of what I should add, f.ex.
"I think you should add a basic explanation
as to how one should bla bla bla"
