NOTE : This is a repost from the Model Editing Section! Ive made one on this forum aswell so people will see it more - People have to know how to model edit in 2.3 so we can stop this fuss!

Okay First Of All This Guide Is Used Without ModelEditFix -
The Edit Im Doing Is For A Spell Which Doesnt Need a Fix

Im going to show you how to model edit for the patch 2.3, seeing how theres a huge fuss over it.

I Did Not Make This In The Guide Section So More People Will See It and Hopefully Continue Editing

Well now were going to get started, all you need is MyWarcraftStudio and Notepad, these pictures will help and ill be telling you how to do it

Step 1 : - Open up MWCS, open the patch that has what you want to edit on it. Find it and Copy its Treepath


Step 2 : - Find what you want to change your object to, for me it was a WhiteGlow.


Step 3 : - Extract it and shove it anywhere


Step 4 : - By this time you should of opened Notepad and pressed Paste, if not do it now, and look at it, rename the NAME of the file you extracted (the words after *****/*****/NAMEIS_HERE.m2)


Step 5 : - Click on Pack(P) and click on Edit MPQ archive, then select Patch-2.MPQ


Step 6 : - Click on Pack(P) and click on Add File to Archive, then simply click the file, and copy all the ** THISIS/WHATYOU/COPY/**** ** and paste it before the name like so. Click Pack(P) and then Save and Close Archive


Finished : - This should be your result


You can probally only do things like this on patch 2.3, because it doesn't need a fix. You can do Reskins and so on, small things like glows and stuff

Haven't got time to make more pictures, i missed out one showing how WhiteGlow_High.m2 was renamed.

WhiteGlow_High.m2 should afterwords say PurpleGlow_High.m2, you can see how this works via the pictures

Also, imo, this sounds to me like it wont work due to sig file. Ur not even on the PTR so i really doubt this works

My patch-2.mpq folder has my westfall model edit that I use and it runs perfectly. this could work when the nerf hits.

Warden isnt sleeping anymore, Maybe editing the Listfile?

The listfile gets automatically edited ... else adding wouldn't be possible ... what we have to do is a "ignore-signaturefile" or a "calc-signaturefile" or a "load-all-mpqs-again". nothing more.
