Yes.. i know what you are thinking.... "LoL.. Another model edit tutorial x_x"
Well sry, but it has to be done! >:]
The reason why i do this, is coz there actually aint any n000b guides for model to model editing, Coz i myself found only those with .blp changes stuff like that.
(this tutorial is only a n00b to n00b tutorial, no .blp changes are required as far as i know.)
So.. here we go ^_^
NOTE. i made a mistake in the tutorial, naming the ManerothTree to manerothTree.. and i forgot to put the PassiveDoodads in the address.... dont do a stupid mistake like that
(the full address is World\Kalimdor\Orgrimmar\PassiveDoodads\ManarothTree\ManerothTree.m2)
So pay attention on that you have the right address there or it wont work!
and dont trust on the pics too much, they are only there to guide you to the right path.
ALWAYS check the text before going to the next step, coz the pics have many typos & such in them.

Directions:
1. Put the exe inside your world of warcraft directory (example: C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\)
2. Run the new .exe from your World of Warcraft directory inplace of WoW.exe to enable model changing (make sure you have your custom .MPQ setup)
3. The exe will open WoW.exe for you and you will be able to login.
4. After you've seen the swapped model, hit end and the program will close.
MyWarcraftStudio 9.0 [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Winzip [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Step 1.
Open your MyWarCraftStudio.exe
Step 2.
Click on file(F) -> Open MPQ Archive
Step 3.
Open Model.mpq From the World Of Warcraft -> Data folder.
Step 4.
Choose your victim model. (We'll be doing only World models in this tutorial.)
Step 5.
OK. Let's say you choose to edit the World\Kalimdor\Orgrimmar\PassiveDoodads\ManarothTree\ManerothTree.m2
(i've always hated that ugly thing -_- )
Step 6. Make a new folder somewhere, with for example the projects name or anything. (doesnt matter if you dont do a folder, this is just to make it easier to organize the files.) In my case, i'd name the folder "Manarothtree change". but do as you like, aint my problem if ya cant keep the files organized.
Step 7. Now, you see the Folders that you have opened in the MyWarcraftStudio? (World\Kalimdor\Orgrimmar\PassiveDoodads\ManarothTree) Make those folder in the newly made "Manarothtree change" folder. NOTE. the folders must have the exact same names. ( when you add them to your .MPQ file, i'll teach that later in this tutorial.) This is done because of the organizing of the files, it's lot easier to keep all the files in the right order & stuff like that.
Step 8. Excract the file to the "Manarothtree change\World\Kalimdor\Orgrimmar\PassiveDoodads\ManarothTree" folder, that you chould have created just to hang on with the teaching.
Right click on the ManerothTree.m2 file, and choose "Exctract File To..."
Then go into the
"Manarothtree change\World\Kalimdor\Orgrimmar\PassiveDoodads\ManarothTree" folder (with the exctraction explorer)
and press save.
Step 9.
Choose the model that you want the "tree" to be replaced with.
(in our case, we'll be taking the "World\Outland\PassiveDoodads\FloatingRubble\OutlandTowerFloatingRubble.m2" file)
Step 10.(EEEK!!! im running out of fingers!!)
Exctract the file to the "Manarothtree change\World\Kalimdor\Orgrimmar\" Folder.
Step 14. (14 comes after 10 right?... or was it 11... )
Rename the OutlandTowerFloatingRubble.m2 to manarothTree.m2,
Then put the file in to the manarothTree folder, then choose overwrite.
Step 12. (Got my friend to borrow me his fingers )
Let's make the .mpq shall we ^^
Choose "Pack(P)" and "Create MPQ Archive"
make the .Mpq file in the "ManarothTree change" folder, and name the .mpq
patch-X (X = number between 3 - 9 )
Step 13.
Open up the MyWarcraftStudio, Then open the .mpq you just made with the
"Edit MPQ Archive" from "Pack(P)"
Step 14.
Goto "Pack(P)" and choose "Add File To Archive".
Click on the "..." button, and Select the ManerothTree.m2 that lies in the "Manarothtree change\World\Kalimdor\Orgrimmar\PassiveDoodads\ManarothTree" folder.
Step 15.
You should have a screen like this after you selected the file.
Step 16.
Type the whole address infront of the "ManarothTree.m2"
Which is "World\Kalimdor\Orgrimmar\PassiveDoodads\ManarothTree\" and then press OK.
Step 17.
Save the file, and put the patch-X in "World of warcraft - Data" folder.
Step 18.
Thadaa! you've just made a model edit for yourself ^_^
LoL... im seriously sorry for the typo i made but it's Blizzards fault!! they typoed the File names x_x
(Folder name is ManarothTree and the file name is ManerothTree)
aand they made the PassiveDoodads folder too... hard to remember x_x

Wait, i get really lost when you have to do the ''Step 10.(EEEK!!! im running out of fingers!!)
Exctract the file to the "Manarothtree change\World\Kalimdor\Orgrimmar\" Folder.'' Because I have no clue where to find that folder =( or how to extract it >_<

WELL..
In step 6 , 7 and 8 we are making those folders

Hey I just wanted to say that this is an awesome thread. It was really simple and I love my new models. I turned my horsey into a freaken goblin rocket car :P. I just have a few questions. 1 is how do I get the bloodelf character models. Then another is where do I find the epic mount models? I have been looking everywhere and I can only find the level 40 mounts. Then lastly, how do i change the textures to match the models. Though it is kinda cool having taurens running around as gnomes looking like ewoks because they keep the tauren texture :P. Thanks for the awesome guide.
