okay for those of you having trouble of string not found, here is the solution

you have to see the weapon in game in order for your WOW to create a cache for it. So use atlas loot or wow head and type a link onto your wow and try it on (ctrl+left click), and it should be added into your cache

btw good guide i will try to remember to after it resets

What if im a hunter, i want to change my crossbow to a Bow? I've tried...but its like....extremely ugly with i wanna fight lets put it this way...

Hey, been reading over all of this and trying to get it to work for last couple hours now, I finally Have figured the gist of it, Heres what I did.

Downloaded both programs, opened up my folder with itemcache. Dragged it into my xv132 and for example I tried to make my Gladiator's Spellblade to look like a Warglaive of Azzinoth. So i copied the example from the continium blade. I looked up the warglaive on alakhazam and found the ID which is 32837 , i then went to hex editor and typed it in the decimal and the hex came out to be 8045, I then flipped it so it was 4580. I then went to Gladiator's Spellblade and in the 2 spots i put in 4580 which seems to be the 5th and 6th spot after the name on the RIGHT. I also went to the next name and went backwards to a random symbol and from that symbol counted 20 spaces back and an 03 was in it's place which is side....which is correct and I replaced it with an 01 for back sheath. I then went to saveas itemcatch.wdb and it said there already was a file in that name, do you wish to overwite, I clicked yes. I closed it, opened WoW but nothing was changed at all.

Can someone please tell me what exactly I did wrong and What I need to know to get this to work. Thanks!

Also I keep repeating the same thing as above but everytime I open a XV132 and drag in itemcache and look up the same spot it's reverted to the way it was as if I did nothing. Is it not saving?

EDIT" Okay was messing around some more with it, finally figured it out! so i excluded the whole part with findin the ID and turning it into HEX all i did was looked up warglaive of azzinoth copied the a7 b1 and put it into the spots of gladiator's spellblade and saved it over itemcache (while wow is not up) opened up wow, it doesnt show in the char choice screen but when I got on it was there. Also I noticed that now EVERYONE with gladiator's spellblade has a warglaive .....can I make it so I just have one? cuz say if im in arena and I change a bunch of stuff Ill forget what that person actually is wearing and it could mess my gameplan up. Thanks also for those who couldnt figure out how to get this work, read my whole post and it should help you figure it out comin from an idiot like me lawlz

the itemcaches are changed to this new updated way and the old way just had the words replicated 3 times, where its just once now. so yeah it still works seeing how ur editing on the basically same theory
