Ok so i've decided to post a quick easy Guide on how to change your hair color (for the newbie model editers including me
)
In this example i will change the hair color of my Dwarf (orange) into the hair color of a Night elf (white)
Program you need:
My Warcraft studio
step one :
Open up your MWCS and open the file Common.mpq
step two:
go to the ''Character'' Folder and select your race
(not the one you modelchanged into if you have done so)
and scroll down till you find the files called Hairxx_xx.blp
step three:
Select the file that matches your original hair color and right click ''Copy threepath''
step four:
Select the file that has the Hair color you want to change into and right click extract file to ( I extracted it to Data folder to keep it simple)
NOTE: just look for the hair color file of any race you want your original hair color be changed into (i take for example the white NE hair color )
step five :
Go to ''Pack'' and select ''Create new MPQ Archive'' and name it Patch-h.mpq or however you want, Click Ok.
step six:
Go to ''Pack'' and select ''Add new file to Archive'' you will see a little window that says ''input the pathname of the file to be'' , click on the ''...'' at the right of the window and select the hair you extracted in step four.
step seven:
select the file name and put the Filename of your current hair color in it (just press ctrl+v) and Click Ok.
Go to Pack ''Save and Close Archive , log on WoW and enjoy your New Hair Color
