Hi, I'm fairly new to model editing and I'm trying to do an EpicRidingTalbuk -> the new ZA bearmount. This may be a redundant question but: Where is the .m2 file located? In WoWModelViewer its shown in the Creature directory, but its no where to be found with Warcraftstudio. So, tbc models are stored somewhere else Im guessing?

I'd like to thank you for this guide. I started tonight and after 1-2 hours I got it. I transformed my frostwolf into an ahnquiraj mount. But I still have some questions. First of all i have no sound when i am riding and then when i get falldmg i hear the wolf sound. Is that normal or have i made a mistake? Hope you could give me some answers =).

So far Deso

Yes that is completely normal, because you swapped the model, not the sounds. Its like switching the exterior on a car, the chasis and paint job may be new, but the engine under the hood still makes the same sound. You can swap the sounds, or when you get better, after a while, you can do DBC changes that will change everything

Huge thank you for this guide.

I want to point out that when I modelchanged Merciless Nether Drake (which uses "NetherDrakeElite.m2" model) to Phoenix ("ridingphoenix.m2"), I did not need to replace any textures or anything. I just swapped the models and it worked.

This is probably because ridingphoenix doesn't have any textures of its own, but uses the phoenix textures (do remember that there are other phoenix' present in the game - such as Al'ar - which use a different model with attack animations etc whilst the ridingphoenix model has riding animations, but they both share the same texture file).
