Great guide!
I'm having problems when I try to do it on my own though, in the CS.dbc file, (OrM to DrM)
OrM has a lot of 0x6 and 0x12's and DrM does not, what do I do when I'm in this situation?

Yes it should me 0 Male and 1 Female.

It looks like Excel isn't ordering the files correctly. I'm not sure why. Maybe it isn't reading the csv properly. Try my CharSections csv. If this works then something happening when you converted it. If not then it's something with excel and maybe you need to update or something, i have no idea.

Looks like your talking about hair?
OrM has 12 hair styles 0-11, with 0-7 0x12 and 8-10 0x6.
DrM has 14 hair styles 0-13, with 0-6 0x12 and 7-9 0x12.

If your doing OrM->DrM then we're pasting the DrM into the OrM. OrM has 12 hair styles and the DrM has 14. Since the OrM only has 12 then we can only use 12 of the Draenei. So copy 0-11 of the DrM into the OrM.

OrM has 11 hair colors, 0-10. DrM has 10 hair colors, 0-9. If we copy the 10 DrM colors into the OrM we will be missing 1 line because OrM has 11. So we need to copy an extra color to compensate. So copy 0-9 of the DrM into the OrM and copy another line. I like to reuse the 0 hair color again. So it will look like this, 0-9 then 0 again.
Click the image to open in full size.

Now if we're doing the opposite. DrM->OrM. DrM has 14 hair styles and OrM has 12. When we copy the 12 OrM styles into the DrM we will be missing 2 hair styles. So we will have to reuse 2. I like to use the last 2. It doesn't matter which you choose. Though you need to remember when it comes to editing the CharHairStyles.dbc.

OrM has 11 hair colors and DrM has 10 hair colors. Since DrM only has 10 we can only use 10 of the OrM. So we're only going to use 0-9 of the OrM. Hair color 10 will not be used.

Hello,
first of all thanks for this awesome guide.
I m browsing the site for some time now but this is the first guide made me trying to race swap.
Two hours past and i finished my first mpq. ^^
But heres my problem:
You wrote that the mpq should have a size of 3mb but mine is only 1.6mb.
And when i try to start WoW, it just dont start. I get the popup which says press f8 but thats all. I ve done everything step by step.
Maybe you have an idea what i made wrong.

Did i already said that this is an awesome guide ?

You should have a "Character\Race\Gender\", "DBFilesClient", and "Item\ObjectComponents\Head" folder with files in it. I'm guessing you missed something.

I followed your guide mostly, during a NiF > DrF edit. I figured out what to delete to make the tattoos go away, but I can't figure out how to get the Draenei horns working. Any suggestions?

NiF has a Section 2 in the CharSections.dbc. DrF does not. You say you figured out how to delete them so you simply cleared Section 2, facial features, which removed the markings. Some features like Draenei Horns, Earrings, and Tusks for example store the information directly in the m2. So all you need to do is clear the previous' race facial features and edit the CharFacialFeatures.dbc appropriately. Copy the DrF lines into the NiF.
NiF has 0-9 facial features and DrF has 0-6. So just copy 3 extra lines to compensate.

Not bad at all. Here is some mistakes I spotted. Even with these few errors it's still way better than some simple edits floating around.

Click the image to open in full size. What is this on the first face style lol?

Click the image to open in full size. You forgot about those 3 special Death Knight skins. You got the first one but forgot about the next two.

It doesn't look like it matters for Draenei but NiF Face style 9 begins Death Knight. DrF it starts at style 10. You copied style 9 of DrF into the style 9 of NiF. So you copied a non-DK DrF Face into the DK NiF face. This would only mean that the DK eyes don't glow blue on any other Model.

Click the image to open in full size. I'm not sure what's up with the Helm Fix but you only have 47 files in your folder. I did a search of my original files and I found 438 DrF files. Make sure you extract the Helms from the common.MPQ, patch.MPQ, and patch-2.MPQ. Though I believe patch-2.MPQ only have a single blp file in the Helm folder but always check.

That, I'm unsure of, but I didn't lay a finger in Column H once during the edit.

Thanks, I didn't notice that. Also, I could only find two groups of 0x5 in the DrF, as opposed to the three groups of 0x5 that NiF has.

Another mistake, thanks for pointing it out.

I hadn't noticed that, my MWCS must've died during first extraction or something.

Anyways, here's an updated version. I think everything's okay now...

Hmm i dont know what you mean with DBFilesClient i am at this step:
''Still in MyWarcraftStudio click Open. Still in the World of Warcraft\Data folder open the "enUS" folder. It may be titled differently depends on your country. Select locale-enUS.MPQ and open.
Extract the "DBFilesClient" to your "Original Files" folder. Do this again for "patch-enUS.MPQ" then "patch-enUS-2.MPQ". Once done close MyWarCraftStudio.''
I cant find any DbFilesclient in the wow folder as you writed down.
i am playing wow Eu, so the maps called EnGB.
so what am i doing wrong :P?
