It seems that many people have problems in opening obj files (that they have injected from .M2 files using [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] )

i indeed is so that you have to change the system language, but not completely :P

just go to control panel > time, date and regional settings (or something similar) > region and language settings
(yes im running a finnish XP so i dont know the exact abbreviations)

theres a dropdown menu with [insert your system language here].
just select english (united states)

theres also some money and time setting but leave them as they are.

accept changes and close the window.

next you have to right click on the language selection button next to your system tray and select options (there should be english (us) button that u can click or least i have)

just set the default language to EN us and press ok

NOTE!: this doesnt change anything in your system really...not the language that shows or anything except some keayboard layouts.
but now u should be able to import the .obj file in your 3ds Max 9


i used MWCS to extract the M2 i wanted and then used the before mentioned glichy's MES to get the .obj file

opened up 3ds max and imported the new obj model and voila it works

afterwards just inject the object back to the M2 and use MWCS to pack it into a mpq

post me if this doesnt help or dont understand something i wrote cuz im too noob to actually write proper english :P
