Easy guide to understand. Too bad it doesn't work. Atleast not for me. My Frozen Shadoweave Shoulders still looks the same.

Edit:
I got it to work and I thought I'd share a pic of my succes.

Evoker's Helmet of Second Sight > Hood of Absolution
Frozen Shadoweave Shoulders > Merciless Gladiator's Satin Mantle
Frozen Shadoweave Robe > Merciless Gladiator's Satin Robe
Staff of Infinite Mysteries > Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker

Using this method, is there a way to do race to race conversions?

Re: [Guide] DBC Editing - Weapons, Shields, and Armor - 10-24-2007

I had a similar problem as a lot of you with an invisible item, then I learned I was entering my hex code in the incorrect spot. As he mentioned, there are rows of hex code. As a quick example:

4582 7E54 0034 789B

After you highlight the LAST LETTER of the LAST WORD on the item name to the right in Hex Workshop it will highlight two of the numbers. I colored an example of where the highlighted numbers may be with blue text:

4582 7E54 0034 789B

After those two letters you will notice two zeros. I'm showing the two zeros with yellow text:

4582 7E54 0034 789B

Now, the numbers you must update with your new items converted decimal code are the four numbers AFTER the two zeros. I'm showing these numbers with red text:

4582 7E54 0034 789B

Even if the next four numbers are not in the 'same column' it still must be the Four letters AFTER the two Zeros.

Here is some screenies:

had a bit more fun and thought I would share some more:

Re: [Guide] DBC Editing - Weapons, Shields, and Armor - 10-30-2007

Really nice guide! I think this is alot easier then what I expected from what ppl told me.
One thing I noticed tho was that some files didn't work for me unless I put in the numbers the exact order that they were on their original item. Such as: Lightbringer Shoulderguards, Helm of the Illidari Shatterer and Cataclysm's Edge (The only items I've transfered that I'm using now, although I have also used Grand Marshal's Sword and that I had to put backwards so..)

Ragesteel Shoulders -> Lightbringer Shoulderguards
Merciless Gladiator's Scaled Helm -> Helm of the Illidari Shatterer
Firemaul of Destruction -> Cataclysm's Edge
Result:

Re: [Guide] DBC Editing - Weapons, Shields, and Armor - 11-03-2007

Just tested this on my friends warrior, and it works great. I haven't been playing WoW for a while(item cache was empty, had to log on and inspect people), so my itemcache is not filled with some of the older models, if I wanted to use the model for, lets say The Hungering Cold, could I use the
model ID from allakhazam without having the actual ID in my itemcache?
