Hello guys, this is my second guide post for MMOWNED.COM.
This time it'll be focusing on how to make easy spell swaps for you world of warcraft character.

I am NOT responsible for any trouble this may cause you within the game such as warnings, or bans/suspensions. Even though not found most of the time.


First off, download Glitchy's MES. (Model Edit Suite). It is an awesome program(Accurate descriptions ; Taken from Glitchy's MES thread."This is a set of tools to do the most basic to the most advance model edits. This program is design to help take some of the more tedious work out of model editing. With the suite you can swap weapons/armor/races/spells/skies/mounts/animations. There are also more advance tools for those of you that like to get deeper in model editing besides the normal swaps."

It is free of viruses and perfect to get started.

Now you will find out what you'd like to swap.
In this guide I will choose Auto-Shot>To> Arcane Shot
To do this go to WOWhead.com or Thottbot.com for this guide I will go to Thottbot.

Once there, in the search box, type whatever your spell is that you want to change. In this case I will type Auto shot.
Find your spell, from the list.

Now once on the page you'll need to find your spell ID. You will see when you scroll down four options;
BB Code;
In Game;
HTML;
HTML + IMG;

Look for In game. My auto shot link will be; /script DEFAULT_CHAT_FRAME:AddMessage('Shift-Click to place in chat: \124cff71D5ff\124Hspell:75\124h[Auto Shot]\124h\124r');

Just copy and paste your Ingame link into notepad.exe.

Look through the link and look for spell:"
In this case mine is spell:75.(/script DEFAULT_CHAT_FRAME:AddMessage('Shift-Click to place in chat: \124cff71D5ff\124Hspell:75\124h[Auto Shot]\124h\124r');

Type that in 'From Spell ID' in the MES.
Then, find what you'd like to change that spell to. I am choosing Arcane shot.
Go back to thottbot and look up whatever you'd want it to change to. do the same by copying and pasting the ingame link into notepad.

(/script DEFAULT_CHAT_FRAME:AddMessage('Shift-Click to place in chat: \124cff71D5ff\124Hspell:30344\124h[Arcane Shot]\124h\124r')

Type the spell ID into 'To Spell ID'.

Press 'swap' then there you go! You can also click 'save' if you want the .MPQ file now, or you can add more to it, by repeating the steps.

umm or just look at the adress bar.. :P

for example: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] there's "s75" at the end of the link.. so 75 is the ID :P

I agree. Mr Retail You asked me how to find the spell ID's and i told you but you never took my advice

While using MES, in step 2 of the spell swap interface, it says save as. what do we need to save it as inorder for this to work?
