| Ok, EXTREME noob Question,.... How would one run the mangosd.exe in the command prompt?
I tried C:\Documents and settings\......\MaNGOS\bin\Win32_release\Mangosd.exe , but it wouldnt run it...... and i know doing that in run, wouldnt do anything different than if I started it normally......

OK, got mangos to run, and log on to the server, but it goes to the realmlist, then i select it, and it keeps going back to the realmlist.... all my ports are forwarded.... sooo i don't know why it does it, Ascent doesn't.....Resolved!!
Past Fixed Problems:
OK, Uhm used a screen recorder, to catch what the error is, and it says
"DOTCONF++ : file 'C:\Documents and settings\.....\MaNGOS\bin\Win32_release\mangosd.conf', Line 401: Unterminated Quote
Could not find configuration file mangosd.conf. "
And my Mangosd.conf is in the same folder.... and is where that path leads..... any advice?
problem3:
WOAH!!! Put the backup of the msngosd.conf from src/mangosd and edited it with Ultraedit(Anything but Notepad) and it works!!!!
Apparently notepad corrupted it? i looked and they are exactly the same text, but i guess notepad did something to it..?
Anyway, it works now... :+rep: for the AMAZING guide ( keep working on the maintaining part, OH and add a link to the releases section of UDB site.....)

problem2:
uhmm, whenever i try to load mangos, with the newest DB, which would be 0.10.1, It says creature_template_addon ... idk what the message is but it says something about there are supposed to be 8 columns, and there are 7, it must have been updated, but then wont go any farther... it works on the previous rev 9.3.... but it wont go to 0.10.1

In the DB, is it 127.0.0.1 or external IP? Try adding another one in DB under it labeled "Local realm" and make it's IP 127.0.0.1 (I did that on my server. Main realm is external and another one labeled "local realm" so I can connect. They both lead to the same worldserver so you can interact with people)

It was under a DNS, soo External i guess... ima try that and see if it worked.

-_-...... i tried putting the realm to bind under my internal ip, and it flashed up connected, but only after asking me to unblock or block it  . it didnt ask me if i wanted to block or unblock it when i bound it on 127.0.0.1.... Thanks soo much for all the help!

Ascent got a lot of bugs
It's databases sucks.. all of them.
Not many scripted bosses?
Not even spawned sunwell I think? And 2.4 has been out for like one month.
I really can't see how ascent is better.

Download a database and run SQL updates to your latest rev (EX: UDB is now for rev 5308 or something like that, if you are 5350 you run every sql update from 5309 to 5350)

Reputation: 1 | | | Uhmmm, one Q.. Where can i get the lates scriptdev2 db? because everytime i try to run update... it says scriptdev2.(alot of different ones)is notfound... and all i have in scriptdev2 in db is empty tables.....
like 5 of them... Fixed
