To the people stating that step 3 doesnt work - Just press the button then go to the next step. All you need to do is get your IP from typing "ipconfig/all" on command, then open "realmlist" using Notepad. Change the address in the first line of code to your IP address. The realm will default to the name "Realmd".
Since the guide wasnt very good, I took the liberty of rewriting it. Here you go.
1. Go to [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] - The Ultimate Torrent Downloader , download Bitlord.
2. 2. Download The server here [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
3. Download the torrent using Bitlord.
4. Install the .exe downloaded via bit torrent.
5. Now go to the directory of your install and run "SERVERCONTROL".
6. Click "Start Apache and SQL".
7. Select Realm Name/IP Address, it will open a window, type in your desired server name and step 5 shows how to input your IP Address.
8. Go to Start > Run... > typ in "cmd" > type in ipconfig and your IP Adress will be shown under "I.P. Address"
9. Go to your Server Control Panel, Start Realm, Start MANGOS.
10. Now create a GM Account by clicking "Register GM Account" on the MANGOS control panel. Enter the desired login info for your player account and click "Create Account". This is now the information you will use to login to your private server.
11. Now you must make a fresh install if your World of Warcraft directory. Follow these steps:
- Make a new folder somewhere on your HDD and call it something like "World of Warcraft PRIVATE"
- Go to your original world of warcraft directory and copy all of the contents excluding, Cache, Interface, Screenshots and WTF.
- Copy these into the previously created folder, this should take around 10mins.
- Once copied, go to your new copy and open the file "Realmlist" with Notepad, and delete the bottom line of text about patching. On the top line of text, change it so it says "set realmlist <IP address of your PC>".
- Save and close the Realmlist.
12. Download the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and move it to your new WoW directory.
13. Run the "1_WSL.exe" in your WoW directory. If you are presented with an error, just click OK and continue to part 14.
14. Now launch your "WoW.exe" and allow World Of Warcraft to load. On the login screen, enter the login information you were provided with earlier in the guide.

Re: Setup WoW MaNGOS server (EAZY)
Hey. it worked fine when i tried i think. i did everyting. but one thing. why does it lagg so much?.
I logged on but when i made a character and that, it lagged alot.
and when i loaded finished it came error 132. but i quess that is because of my patch or someting.
but it lagged alot.
anyone know how i could fix this?
well i finally got in but now hardly any of the commands are working.. whats going on?
All commands do work, they are just different to normal commands on other servers.
And to people getting errors when loading world, your server is running 2.2.3. You will need to back-patch it, unless you can update your server to run in 2.3.0.

Re: Setup WoW MaNGOS server (EAZY)
I followed the guide, but there's no "WoW.exe"...when I try to launch the game from the private server folder, it says it's missing WoW.exe, but when I do it from the regular game folder, it's fine. And I copied everything I had to from the regular folder to the private folder.
EDIT: Nevermind, I hadn't copied "Data"...I'll see if that fixes it.
EDIT2: Okay, I can launch it now, but it just stays at "Connected" when I log on. :\
EDIT3: I made my character, but I can't enter the game world. I need to back patch to 2.2.3, but I don't know how. Help!
EDIT4: Figured it out. For those who need trouble, go to your new WoW folder (the one you copied all the stuff from the normal folder to) and rename WoW.exe to something..like "wowowow.exe" and then run Blizzard Repair, which will create a new WoW.exe which will be at version 2.0.0. Then manually apply each patch until you get to 2.2.3.
Not sure how to stop the automatic update that happens once I log on, though.

Okay, figured out how to stop the automatic update...apparently every time you add a new patch manually, it'll reset "realmlist"...just set the realm thing to your IP and erase the patch thing at the bottom once you're done.
