Reputation: 117 Level up: 99%, 8 Points needed |   | | | Caboose, you can't edit the database files in a text editor, you need to run the mysql server (double click mysql), run sqlyog/navicat, log into localhost (root:root), and then edit the database using the mysql interface. |

A little clarification, this repack is so easy because it's meant for complete and total noobs to hosting a private server. It's meant to work first time when it's your first time trying. If you tryed and failed at using someone else's repack, you have undo the damage that you did before using this one. =) |

I can never make it past the ad.exe section. It runs gets about 40-49% done and then I get the win xp pop-up message program error need to close send detail to microsoft ect ect...
Any ideas? |

Reputation: 1 | | | thanks man ,but i cant log into the game , it says "unable to connect". The part where u say Run Mysql then restarter i did that it opened 4 screens , 1 says "cannot connect to database" another says "Cannot Connect to world datebase 127.0.0.1;3306;root;root;mangos
any idea what i should do?

First of all, awesome repack works like a charm. Me and my friend are trying to get it working on a LAN connection. We've got that far that we have changed the Realmlist inside realmd and i (host) can connect but every time he tries it goes to "logging in to game server" and then opens the realm list and visa versa. Any ideas?

If you're on a lan, click start>run (or start>search in vista) and type cmd. When the console appears, type in ipconfig and press enter. There should be a section that says "Local Area Connection". The IP Address under there is your network IP. If you set our realmlist to that, your friend should be able to connect.
Thepig, if you could screenshot the error, I might be able to help you.
Proth666, it sounds like your mysql server is failing for some reason. Try just running mysql (and not restarter). If it stays open, please screenshot it and post it here. If it closes right away, open "mysql.bat" in wordpad, and add a new line at the bottom that says "pause". this will force the window to stay open and allow you to take a screenshot of the error message. In all likelihood, however, you simply already have another mysql installing running, which would be why the server included in the repack doesn't run. Please view the FAQ for instructions on turning off an exisiting mysql installation.
Armoredfish, could you please go into a little more detail about your issue?

Agentkiller, this guide really isn't about making a public server, it's more for making a private server for those who just want to try it out briefly. If you want to make it public, I suggest you check out some other guides on the topic. Everyone's network is different, and troubleshooting one when we know nothing about it is difficult. Maybe if you provided some more details (like where the problem is if you're having one, what your OS is, what router you have, if you have a firewall, if you've forwarded your ports, etc), we could be of assistance, but again, this guide isn't really intended for that, as it's far more complicated that actually setting up and running the server itself.  |

Reputation: 24 Level up: 10%, 451 Points needed | | | | Alright so I click on mysql and then restarter and everything looks perfect so then I click on World of warcraft sign in with 3 and then I choose pvp realm and then suggest realm and it gives me mangos like it should be. So then I click on accept realm and then when I do that it gives me the realm list with mangos greyed out and it says offline.
You may see this when blizzard puts realms offline with problems and things like that. And for some reason its doing that with me. | | |
