Hello all. I recently botted a Mage to 70 and figured with the little time I had left on Elite, I would get a Hunter to at least 60. This is guide is coming from someone who is at the PC 90% of the day, so I am hardly ever AFK.
NOTE: This isn't a "How to glide a hunter" guide. This is just my diary of my character. I will not be posting my settings, keys, etc. As this diary is directed toward Glider's who know what they are doing, just need some help finding decent spots to glide.
I am giving away as little information about my character as possible for I have seen many people get banned while doing these. I won't update immediately following myself, I want to keep Blizzard off my tale as my account may be flagged for I survived the May Banwave. I will however let you know that I started at level 14, Horde, am using The Default Glider Hunter Class, am using a Hunter character (Duh), am on a PVP US server, and am using a Cat as a pet.
Throughout this glide I have a constant supply of gold from a "Main", so I am getting my new skills, pet skills (that includes training them from other beats, don't get lazy!), gear, etc. as soon as possible.
Oh and one more thing, I decided to write this up after being very far along with this character, I would post more in depth information with each write up, like XP/h if I had taken note. So I'm sorry if there was something you wanted to see that I didn't include. I'm not going to make up fake numbers just for the sake of having them.
Ok, now that I have all that out of the way, on with the guide!
Levels 14-20 East of Camp T. No problems, adds but Hunter could handle it. Levels 20-23 North East of Camp T.
Still hanging around CT. No adds really here, maybe the random add time to time, nothing I couldn't handle. Smooth glide. Had a few people ask for help on quests, but answering tells just makes you look less suspicious, so I didn't mind. Levels 23-26 1/2 Path To Stone Talon
Always a good profile. I stayed here for about 4 and a half levels before I started getting ganked continually. Made my leave after wanting something I could AFK on.
Levels 26 1/2 - 30 Ashenvale Trash
This is a profile I randomly happened to come across and I have to say that no matter what I am gliding, this is a profile I know that I won't run into anyone else. Its a great profile, adds time to time, but again, nothing major.
Levels 30 - 33 Felfire Hill
Another favorite of mine, couldn't use this on the Mage I botted earlier due to the infernals resisting ALL fire spells, but it worked great on my hunter. Left at 33 due to people coming to quest and I was fighting for mobs with them. Could maybe push this profile to 35 or so.
Levels 33 - 35 Arathi Highlands
Came here after having a decent time here on my other Toons. Overall it is a smooth glide, adds from time to time, nothing any class couldn't handle. Be warned that there are several quests that go on out here and that Cliff Walker sometimes is pulled. Only stayed here for 2 levels as I wanted to get into DWM as fast as possible.
Levels 35- 38 Bluefen
Nice little profile I heard was nice and secluded. Nice green drop rate and you are looting silver as well due to the mobs being elementals. Only ran into one person doing a quest which I actually helped him out with (anything to make me look normal). Gets slow around 38, but due to the seclusion I stuck around.
Levels 38 - 42 Dustwallow Marsh Crocodiles/Spiders/Noxious Reavers
Love this profile. Used it on various other toons all with great success. Surprisingly awesome green drop rate. You could save the grays if you wanted for some added cash, but I didn't need it, so I just filtered them. Was able to afford mount thanks to a main.
42 - 45 Feralas The Lower Wilds
Came to Feralas as I didn't want to fight with other botters over the popular spots. Feralas is always a place I know I won't have problem with other botters as its a little out of the way. Warning : THIS PROFILE AS ADDS CONSISTENTLY. ONLY GLIDE HERE IF YOU CAN HANDLE THAT. Had no problems on my Hunter. Died once or twice due to unlucky pulls. Got stuck near a log a few times, but overall its a great glide. Right near Camp Mojache so start saving those grays now as they sell decently. Made about 10-30g every time I emptied my bags. 45 - 50 Feralas Gryffons
This profile, again, has adds consistently but will rake you some more XP/h than Southmoon Ruins if you can handle it. Some greens, no blues, just keep saving those grays as they still sell decently. I happened to do a /played when I immediately hit 50. I was at about 5 days, 10 hours. This is adding some time that I ran instances in, did a few BG's, etc. I never glide trying to get the fastest time, I do what I can do look human when I have a chance. And plus, running instances along with getting the gear in them dramatically increases your XP/h.
