I have heard a lot of talk around Game Engine forums and just word and mouth, that WoW used a commercial Game Engine, does anyone happen to know it? Its a long shot but someone may know or have an idea.

'Although i did find this idea quite obscure considering Blizzard are a massive corporation so surly they would of made their own engine for it'

Anyways, if anyone has any ideas about the WoW engine, i'd like to know >.<

I seriously doubt that blizzard purchased a commercial game engine for WoW. As you said they are a huge corporation, and they have enough money to pay for the best programmers in the world, so why buy a game engine when you could build one? If they built their own then they would know everything about it, they could make it do whatever they wanted/needed it to do, but if they bought one they would have to study it, learn how it works, and then incorporate the GE into the game and try and make it work with their vision of the game.

I don't blame you I would probably be pissed if I even found out Blizzard used a GE for WoW. That would ruin it for me I think. More fun to play a game when you know its been built from scratch or if there was a previous version at least it was owned by the same company and has variations to it.
