[Guide] How to Install Themes 5 or 5.5 Generation Ipod 30g[Mac+PC] - 04-23-2008

First off lets start with the Mac
1 First Download[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
2. Download the theme you want [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
3.Plug in your iPod Open Alterpod and Quit Itunes
4.Select your iPod(even if its already selected you still need to i dont know why)
5. Select your firmware(should be a .bin file)
6. Wait(Tiger users should say Restore is complete. Lepard users should get an error message after 10+ min. If you get an error after 30 seconds you might of done somthing wrong)***I HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU BACKUP YOUR FIRMWARE***
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOUR IPOD IS BROKEN!! If your ipod is broken you can "restore" it on itunes.I am certain that the top row of Themes works Also before you install the theme Reset the Main menu settings not doing so will result in wrong links

Now time for the PC Ver.*NOTE*This does not support 6G(iPod Classic)

1.Download [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
2.Loading a set pictures to create a theme(Drivendesign.us)
3.Download Theme set from the site (Themes Section)
4.Save and extract the set of pics to desired place. (If the file is a .rar, you will need Extractnow)
5.Open iPW
6.In the top left corner, click 'iPod' in the drop-box.
7.Right beside that, click 'Load Firmware' and wait for the firmware to load
8.Go to the 'Pictures' tab under firmware editor.
9.To the right side of IPW, click 'load all'. This should bring up a browse window.
10.Go to the place where you unzipped the folder with the theme pics. Click on the folder and click open.
11.After all the pics have been loaded, click Write - be patient while progress bar increases.
12.Once loaded you will prompted to eject your iPod

Please note that some themes are made for certain firmware hacks, in which case you will need to
download the firmware hack(usually a .bin file in a .zip or .rar folder) and the theme in order
for it to work.
Always make sure the theme you download is for the correct generation iPod also.

Loading a set of pictures to create a theme that requires a hack (Hybrid, Classic, iTouch,...)

Download the firmware Hack that you would like to have on your iPod.

Download Theme set from the site (Themes Section)

Save and extract the set of pics to desired place. (If the file is a .rar, you will need Extractnow)

Connect your iPod to your PC and open iPW

In the top left corner, where it says 'iPod' choose 'Firmware File' in the drop-box. Now click 'Open Firmware'

Choose the .bin File that contains the Hack and click open

Now click 'Load Firmware'.

Click 'Load All' on the right side of the programm

Navigate to the Folder that contains the imageset and click 'Open'.

Now click 'write' and then 'write to iPod'.

Your iPod will boot into the Theme

How to install the current modified firmware changes using iPodwizard

1. Open iPodwizard.

2. Look at the upper left hand side of the screen for a dropdown box that says "Edit Mode".

3. Click on the dropdown box, and select iPod. This will make it so you are editing the iPod
firmware directly.

4. Make any changes you want to the firmware(images, strings, fonts, resources).

5. Once you are done, look for a button at the top of the screen that says "Write to Ipod".

6. BEFORE YOU CLICK IT, make sure there are no programs running in the background.

7. Click "Write to iPod", and you will be prompted with a message asking if you really want to write.

8. Click "Yes", and wait for iPodwizard to write the changes to your iPod.

9. Once it has finished, it will say it was successful in a message box and tell you to eject.

10. Close the message, and eject your iPod. DO NOT PULL THE CABLE OUT OF THE IPOD! Let the
iPod reboot and reconnect to your computer. Once it has reconnected, you can eject again and
pull the plug. You will see all of the changes you've made then.

AGAIN I AM NOT RESPONISBLE IF YOUR IPOD IS MESSED UP! I ALSO RECOMEND BACKING UP YOUR FIRMWARE//MUSIC IF YOU MESS UP!!

Feel free to post questions here. i am more likely to repsond you in an email i check it more often [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
