Okay. So I just recently bought a brand new comp Windows Vista and all. Now with my old computer I just wanted to give it to my younger brother. I was wondering how do I setup a LAN connection between the two? I have a basic ethernet cable. I plugged them into both of the network cards on the comp and wondered if that would do it. Would it? I also need to transfer some of the files over to my new computer, but Vista needs some gay USB easy transfer cable which just made this process NOT EASY. Someone got some ideas on what I can do to setup a LAN?

I really just wanna play Wc3 and CS together with my bro. It doesn't even have to be online. Hope someone out there can help

I always found it easiest to borrow/get/steal a router. I saw someone do it ages ago set up some master slave thing with the computers but don't really remember.

Yes getting a router would be your best bet, then you can setup a network to transfer files between computers and you can play multiplayer games over LAN

I did this with WC3 and SC but only on XP. I have no experience with Vista, but on XP you could just either allow a computer to share internet access thru your computer by clicking on your LAN>properties>advanced and it was there. You could also just try running a wizard on setting up a home network, thats why theyre there

Why the hell does it sucks? its 1000 times better than xp.
ok you find this program called: Advanced ip finder. (google ftw)
click search ip...
now it should get a list of all the computers on your router.
right click on the computer you want and click explore.
now copy or paste the files you want
