Does anyone know where i can download a free virus program that will actually attempt to remove harmful programs? my computer just got hit hard and i did a restore. i downloaded search and destroy but i have to register to get it to fix the problems i have. A link to a free virus protection program would be great +rep. Thanks

bitdefender has a free edition and almost every payware distro gives lile a 30day free trial...bitdefender is rated #1 AV so far in 2008...kaspersky is 2nd and nod32 is 3rd

get Avast! its free, you register it give u a key, a year later you reregister and it gives you a new key. Its the best with daily updates.
