Oke, i just got an amazing computer. cost me around $2300. its amazing. the thing is it came with vista. i found the win xp download but im not sure if i should remove vista. i heard bad stuff about it and i run alot of perculuar progs and im afraid it wont let me. i heard it deosnt accept some progs. plz share your thoughts.

People say vista is horrible but Im running on vista now. Its not that bad...only problem with it is that when you run most software applications you have to confirm its safe. What programs do you run?

i would rather run xp but i dont want to re-install everything again!

i also heard that vista goes soooooooooooooooooo much slower than xp. true or false?

I prefer xp to vista, it looks better, it doesn't pop-up asking whether i want to run the program (EVEN IF ITS MADE BY MICROSOFT), vista takes up a lot more memory and i think it needs more ram to run... my computer without vista works a hell of a lot better than the one with vista >.<

hm. now im like 70% for xp and 30% for vista. when i get to 90% xp i will defenatly switch to xp. cuz my pc has 650gb hd. and 3gb ddr2/ram.

No it actually runs faster than my xp (except i spend all my money upgrading my comp, its my hobby,)

ur lucky... cause outa the box my vista was slower on pc mark 2005 and alot of FPS scores were slower then when i had XP on my computer..

edit: used to be my hobby, till i ran outa money

so in conclusion, vista goes faster than xp if i work my ass off fixing and tweekin' and buying upgrades. but if im a lazy ass, i should just use xp?

depends... idk maybe it was the version i'm using or maybe something got installed wrong, not sure.. do a little research.. after SP 1 comes out in about a week vista should work better

XP is exactly the same as XP.

You just have to know how to use a computer. Vista runs slow for idiots.

I am on XP atm. because of my WLAN program. (my vista is a shitty copy, won't run my prog for wlan), but as soon as I buy my new cable + extra modem I'm on vista again
