So this is a thread about some useful tips...
I have a few, feel free to post yours.

Save your eyes:
-Well you know that your computer is harmful for your eyes, so to reduce this problem, I'd suggest you...right click anywhere on your desktop..Properties > Settings > Advanced > Monitor > Screen refresh rate, this should be set to lowest, so you change it to the highest...75 Hertz in my case.

Faster Firefox:
-I'm almost sure this one's been posted before, the pipelining feature. Launch Firefox, in the address bar type about:config and a bunch of lines should show up. Change the filter to network.http and you should have several lines left. Change network.http.pipelining to "true", network.http.proxy.pipelining to "true" and network.http.pipelining.maxrequests to 8, this will allow Firefox to make 8 requests at once. When you're done with this, right-click anywhere and select New -> Integer, name it “nglayout.initialpaint.delay” and set it's value to “0". This tip's from the WoW boards.

Find out your own IP:
-It's pretty stupid, go to Start > Run and type cmd, then type ipconfig /all and a bunch of informations should come up, including your IP.

Change your static IP address:
-Easy one, Start > Run > cmd, type ipconfig /renew, then type ipconfig /release. Or, type ipconfig /release, shut down computer, turn off all ethernet hubs/switches, turn off cable/DSL modem, leave off overnight. Then turn everything back on.

Force users to hit Ctrl-Alt-Delete to log on:
-This works for XP Pro only, go to Start > Run and type "control userpasswords2" (without the quotes)

Disable CD autorun:
-Go to Start > Run and type GPEDIT.MSC, go to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System and locate the autorun entry. I don't know which one is it, hehe.

Renaming partitions:
-Go to Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management, Disk Management, click the partition name of the one you wish to rename, and select "Change drive letters and paths".

Keyboard on screen:
-Go to Start > Run and type in osk. 'Nuff said. Try it.

Disable error reporting:
-Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > System > Advanced and on the bottom of the window there should be an error reporting button, so select 'Disable Error Reporting". Click ok.

Remove shortcut arrow from icons on desktop:
-Start regedit, navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTlnkfile, delete the IsShortcut registry value.

Turn off welcome screen:
-Open User Accounts in Control Panel, then click Change the way users log on or off.

Change your user agent in Mozilla Firefox:
-Type about:config in the address bar, right click anywhere, and add a new string, named "general.useragent.override", without the quotes. Next, enter the new User Agent value you want Mozilla Firefox to use. You can also pick one from the list of User Agent strings. Check the new value by entering about: in the address bar. Keep in mind that this screws up the WYSIWYG Editor, and I wouldn't recommend you changing your user agent this way.
