Welcome to my Guide : How to post Correctly on MMOwned

Lately we have all seen people posting WoW Trades in the Scams Section and other things like that, and alot of COMMENT ON YOUTUBE FOR GAME CARDS!

If you want to keep MMOwned clean and tidy and everything in the right place, then follow this guide, By The Way, this guide is aimed at New people and Active members alike, but mainly New Members.

Section 1 : Choosing the right forum

OMG! Wow, you found a new bug on WoW. It involves you going in Orgrimmar to get underneath Orgrimmar, you have a huge list of forums infront of you, and you think "Where the **** does this go?".

Forum Name : WoW Guides NO!
Forum Name : WoW Exploration Yes

BUT! What if it fits 2 of the forums?

Forum Name : WoW Guides
Topics : UNDER ORGRIMMAR W00T! (by L33tHacker)
Forum Name : WOW Exploration
Topics : UNDER ORGRIMMAR W00T! (by L33tHacker)
NO WAY! (Double Posting in 2 different forums is a big NO-NO)

Forum Name : WoW Guides
Topics : Get 100000000000000g in a second by giving me rep (by Fail)

Section 2 : Choosing the right Thread Name

Choosing the right thread name to attract peoples attention can sometimes be quite challenging, especially if it has a similiarity to something that already exists (NOT A REPOST, Section 3) such as Getting Under Stormwind and Getting Under Orgrimmar (those titles are BORING)

Thread Name : OMFG! L00K, IM UNDER ORGRIMMAR AND UR NOT No, FAIL!
Thread Name : Haha, I R TEH BEST! I AM UNDER ORG! l33t! NO! Epic Fail
Thread Name : [Guide] How to get under Orgrimmar, Yes its true! Yes!

Please note : Getting under orgrimmar has already been done :P

Summary : Don't choose a thread name that simply implys that your there TO SHOW OFF! Flooding the forum with pictures. If you take Thread Name No.2 , you are likely to get MEGA FLAME! (Flame = Taken the piss out of for posting rubbish)

Section 3 : Posting at the right time!

One of the biggest problems at MMOwned are reposts, reposts are posts basically that have already been said in the exact same way or slightly different. Its basically meaning that you are trying to get credit for something someone else has done! TRUST ME : You will NOT get credit if you do that, you'll just get FLAMED at.

One of the most simple ways to ensure you don't REPOST, is to use the Shiny button at the top called the Search button, after clicking it, TYPE IN what your threads title will be :

Your Thread Title : How to get under Orgrimmar
Suggested Searches you carry out : Orgrimmar Exploration , Under Orgrimmar, Orgrimmar

Summary : If you find that it has already been posted, DO NOT POST IT AGAIN! Just leave it and find something else to post about!

Section 4 : Choosing the right Thread Content

Simple rule : Don't post stuff in your thread that doesn't have to do with what your are talking about. Example : Don't start talking about how your girlfriend dumped you because you can't post correctly, STAY ON TRACK.

Thread Title : Under Orgrimmar Guide!
Hi guys its me UbarUbarLeet, I found out how to get under orgrimmar: Follow these steps
1 : Go to <X>
2 : Follow <Y>
3 : Jump up to <Z>

The only people who could make use of this guide would be those who don't know how to post on MMOwned, and since it's a forum and most forums are self-explanatory, it'd probably be the people without the presence of mind to reply (or give rep).

Nice post, but it's in the wrong section, and I highly doubt that anyone will put it to much use.

It seems that you have posted a thread that would be much better suited in the designated forum. Next time, look through the forum index and read the descriptions of each forum to find what sections suits you the best. Posting threads in the wrong section such as this one only causes disorganization and possible flamewars.


It seems that you have posted a thread that has already been made on the forums before. This is usually called a 'repost'. These types of threads are typically frowned upon here at MMOwned. Next time, before you submit your thread, do a quick search of all the main keywords in your thread, this can help out a lot and let you know if your thread has already been addressed. 'Reposts' only make clutter and cause unprofessional replies that do nothing but hinder the situation that the original poster is already in.
