Hey guys, I'm going to teach you how to speed up your PC by following a 9 EASY steps!

Part 1 - Getting rid of those useless files stored in your PC.

Use Disk Cleanup to empty your recycle bin, remove temporary internet files, remove backups of downloaded programs and programs you don't use anymore. To do this click Start and go to All Programs, from there find accessories then system tools and you will see Disk Cleanup, open it and delete whatever you don't need in your PC.

Part 2 - Get rid of all the spyware, adware and viruses in your PC.

Scanning for malicious files in your PC will not only make it faster, but a lot safer, I thought my PC was fine with no malicious files in it until I ran a scan with Nod32 and Spybot. I used to think anti-virus made my PC a lot slower but Nod32 runs in the background and doesn't slow down my PC at all.

Part 3 - Using Disk Defragmenter

If your files are fragmented the PC must search the hard drive to piece it back together. The response time can be a lot longer if there are a lot of fragmented files on your drive. Click start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools then Disk Defragmenter, this will take a while, a long while.

Part 4 - Deleting unused files.

You know those files that has been sitting in your PC for months and you've only used it once or twice? Delete it!! You won't need it again if you haven't used it in over a month so why keep it in your PC? Uninstall it all!

Part 4 - Using gpedit(This won't work on all PCs sorry)

Windows keeps a reserved amount of bandwidth for updates...let's get rid of that! We don't need it anymore as XP hardly has any updates anymore and even if with did have updates, who needs them? :P Go to Start and click on Run, type in gpedit.msc and click the Administrative Templates on Computer Configuration, next click the Network tab, click the QoS Packet Scheduler then right click on Limit Reservable Bandwidth and go to Proporties, change the Bandwidth Limit to 0% and restart your PC.

Part 5 - Getting rid of those annoying Startup programs

You those annoying programs that start right when you start your PC? Can't get rid of them? Well then read along. Click Start and choose Run, type in msconfig, then click on the Startup tab, see all those programs in that box? those are all programs which start when you start your PC. Have no pity!! Uncheck all those boxes! Only leave the anti-virus on, you can start all those programs manually anyway! Restart your PC and it's done!

Part 6 - Speeding your PC using notepad?! Impossible!

No, actually it isn't, you can actually free up some RAM using your notepad! Let's try it out, open the notepad and type mystring=(80000000) and save in your desktop as ram.vbe then close notepad and double click ram.vbe, and you're done.

Part 7 - Using regedit to speed your PC up

Click on Start and then Run, type in regedit and click enter, now go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER then click Control Panel and then Desktop, look for MenuShowDelay open it and change it from 400 to 0.

Part 8 - Choosing between "cute"(._.) and fast!!(=D)

Now I'm going to say this now, if you want pretty looking little desktop graphics, etc. this isn't for you, but if you're looking for speed read on!
Go to Start, Control Panel, then System. Go to Advanced and then Performance Settings, now choose for best performance.

Part 9 - Speeding up your internet connection

Go to Start and click on Run(yes, again!) then type system.ini, now put this code all in one line:

page buffer=100000kbps load=100000 download=100000kbps save=100000kbps back=100000kb

**REMEMBER TO PUT IT ALL IN ONE LINE!!**
Now save.

It's done guys!! Now restart your PC and feel the difference!!
