this is from no experience but i'd go laptop. i'm hoping to go uni in two years and i'm planning on buying a laptop for it. reasons; practical, can go to classes with it, you can meet deadlines without being at a computer to do the work, can play games on it whenever you want.
but if all your friends have a 360 then get one of them, personally i prefer ps3 but you'll have more fun with a 360 playing games with your friends than buying a laptop which you cant always play against them on

Haha thanks guys, it's just another day imo. One more year i've survived. Im leaning torwards laptop though because im never at a computer much but I always have work to do.
