The Ring of Death Fix(XBOX 360) - MMOwned - World of Warcraft Exploits, Hacks, Bots and Guides

Many people are getting the ring of death. Most of them send in their XBOX 360 in order to get it fixed. There are methods that you can do before sending it in. I do not take credit for any of these methods. I am just sharing them with you.
I DO NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY TO WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR SYSTEM. THERE MAY BE RISKS INVOLVED. SUCH AS THE XBOX 360 STOPS WORKING OR VOIDING THE REPAIR CONTRACT.

Method One
1) Place the XBOX 360 on a flat surface.
2) Disconnect the hard drive, AV cables, and the power cord.
3) Plug in the Power Cord.
4) Turn on the XBOX 360.
5) Wait a few seconds and plug in the AV cable.
6) If the XBOX continues to have the rings please go on to the next method.

Method Two
1) Place the XBOX 360 on a flat surface.
2) Disconnect the hard drive, and the AV cables. Leave the power cord in.
3) Find two-three big towels. (I used two towels, and a blanket)
4) Turn on the XBOX 360.
5) Place towel under and wrap the XBOX 360 around. Place the other towel on top and wrap the sides. I decided to use a blanket, I placed it on the ground and wrapped the XBOX 360 in it along with the towels. The XBOX 360 should be completely wrapped.
6) Leave the XBOX 360 for 15 minutes. Try to be around it while waiting the 15 minutes. Sometimes the XBOX 360 might shut off, you will need to unwrap it and turn it back on.
7) Once you have waited 15 minutes, unwrap the XBOX 360. It should be very warm, shut it off and let it cool off for another 15-20 minutes.
8) Plug in the Hard Drive, and the AV cables.
9) Turn it on and ENJOY!

Method Two has definitely worked successfully. I am very happy that I did not have to send in my XBOX 360. I hope that this works for you!

Wow O.o too bad you didnt post this before i woulda tryed it before sending my xbox 360 to get "repaired"

From what I've herd the towel fix is only a temp fix at best. All your doing is getting the bored so hot it remelts the solder on the broken join " the reason most 360s get the RoD is because the console gets to hot and flex's the mother bored and pops soldering join" So I would still say just send the thing back. I mean it has a three year warranty and I have seen them take back units that don't have the sticker on any more.

Well, this is a guide for people that do not want to send it in. Like, if they have a modified XBOX 360. Or maybe they do not want to wait very long.

Iv seen people send back modified 360 and still get them fix. Your right about having to wait thats all ways going to suck. It's just in the long run this fix wont work and you will have to send it back or get a new one any ways.

Ya doing this voids your warenty just to let everyone know.

They more then likely wont unless you really screw some thing up "like over doing the towel trick". But still your better off just sending the thing back unless you know for sure what your fixing. If you don't want to wait you could all ways try the Wal-Mart trick.

Go to Wal-Mart and buy a 360. When you get it home open both your broken 360 and the new 360 "be sure not to **** up the sticker on the front of the new 360. You can hit it with a heat gun or even a hair dryer to remove it" Then swap the insides from your broken xbox into the new case and take it back to Wal-Mart. When they go to check the ID number on the back of the xbox every thing will match up and they should give you your cash back.
