That's the thing, I think Darkfall will be good mainly for the reason that they don't seem to want to compete with WoW.
The developers wants to make the greatest PvP game available, and I'm pretty sure they'll be able to do it.
Most other MMO's that are recently released or planned for the next year or two is mainly based around WoW's concept, catering to ALL different player-types, thus running out of cash too soon because they set goals they can't afford.

Darkfall won't be anywhere near WoW's amount of subscribers, everything fits into WoW while alot of people won't fit into Darkfall at all.
A PvP MMO with full loot on death is not something 10 million people are looking for, but for people who really like a game with freedom it's gonna be so awesome as you can do anything, there's almost no restrictions on what you can do in-game.
