Ok. MySQL Server is up and running (just checked). I'm not sure what you mean by "Accessing" it via NaviCat ( I have NaviCat opened if thats what you mean).

Ok, where you see:

<CharacterDatabase Hostname = "127.0.0.1"
Username = "******"
Password = "******"
Name = "ascentlogon"
Port = "3306"
Type = "1">

The Name should be the same as the one you put for the WorldDatabase Fields. So change it to ascent, and try again.


Do the same as the <LogonDatabase> name field in logonserver.conf aswell

Its still a no go .

I changed it in the logonserver.conf file, but I'm using JulianX's Repack V5 which has two DBs one for the realm/accounts and there other for the rest. So when I chaned the logonserver.conf I got 0 Accounts Prechached .

i'm having the same issue with the crashing i am using milestone 0.2 of ncdb, newest version of ascent

i used your repack, and edited everything the way i normally do..i run logonserver, it boots up

then i run ascent and it hangs for 2-3 seconds, and exits, i get a quick glimpse of a red error but cant read it in time

i have tried 3 different revisions, and 2 different databases today, all with the same result!

cant find anyone to help, been through the ncdb forums, there is a thread somewhere where it has several queries to fix this issue..but i they dont work/dont run

using sqlyog or whatever

cant figure it out, i used to use revision 14xx and it worked good, i wanted to update to newest version and database and try out some 2.2 content, i tried getting 2.2 dbc files too, nothing has worked...help! lol

Having the correct DBC's may solve your problems. As that is what ascent.exe checks for first, and if they are corrupt or wrong, it will close. This is what happens when your Ascent.exe Flickers for half a second then quits.

omg...lol...i feel retarded now

for host in the config file it was "localhost" not just "host" i put the local in front of both lines in the ascent config file, and bam..its up and going!

lol damn there was 3 hours well spent ><

check your config files, go over every line, i compared my old working version 1463 with this new one, and just basically used what i had there in the new one...and seen localhost instead of host..put 2 and 2 together...sigh

I get stuck at connected now though ( On the character loading screen).

Make sure you download my 2.2.0 Dbc files. as yours are incompatible with the new core.

it has to be your ports then. check to make sure you forwarded the right ones.

Ok. I would just like to add that they always worked before on my Antrix server and they were not forwarded. My friends could connect easily is there any cause for this problem I am encountering?

Ports should always be forwarded. Also, make sure you have the correct information in the Hosts file.

k so i got this working, i loaded up all seemed fine, i am bored so i made a BE paladin was going to run around and quest and stuff

i hit the first quest giver...and its all in german.......???

why is this database in german and why doesnt it say anywhere that its not english? or if its english why does my wow have everything in german? using us client, what would cause that??

i'll go back to ncdb database now that i know my ascent.exe is fixed
