Reputation: 1 | | | iv done every thing the guide said, but when i try to log in it goes fine till it gets to loging in to ame server, then it just sits there ad then brings me back to the realmlist and yes iv tryed this babout 600 times can some1 plz help? |

Reputation: 1 | | | I've nearly done it all, Just one little problem.
On the hosts stage, i type in what's needed to type, and then it says i cant save there, And when i change the permissions in the /etc folder, it just resets back to read-only. Also i'm quite paranoid that Notepad saves it as a .txt file, and the original file dosent even have a file format. |

| Your going to have to save it to your desktop and then frag it into the folder where your hosts file is located. Maybe if you tell me what your problem is I can help. |

Reputation: 1 | | | on the hosts part i tried copy and pasting C:/windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts into run and it tells me that file/folder doesnt exist. any ideas?

i just checked and i dont have a drivers folder inside the windows folder... |

Connection Name: MyWoWServer
Hostname/Ip Address: localhost
Port: 3306
Username: root
Password: panex
Check "Save Password"
Click test connection, if it says it was successful, congrats you've connected to your DB.
Click "ok".
Double click on your connection (Whatever you called it, mines server).
7 databases will pop up. Double click on Ascent.
This is your Database. All editing to your server can be done from this place.
| ive got a problem... in navicat when i made the [Connection] thingy I put in this:
Connection Name: Ascent
Host name/IP adress: localhost
Port: 3306
Username: root
Password: *****
and then Save Password
then i clicked test connection and it came up with the following error.. :
2003 - Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061)

Also.. Is MySQL running? You can open it from the control panel. |

Reputation: 1 | | | i had that problem also, but then i went into the panex folder and ran mysql start and then did test connection and it was fine....i still cant connect on my other computer though. when i try to connect to my server i type in the accnt name and pass then it says connecting and just stays there. |

and no .. i guess mysql wasnt running.. so i tried it buut.. when i ran mysql_start an error came up to me again.. altho this time it was in that little black window and it said this: Diese Eingabeforderung nicht waehrend des Running beenden

so anyways.. if you could tell me what im doing wrong? maybe its the wrong program? i found this one in panex folder under networking.. along with mysql_stop, apache_start, apache_stop
